I know when I forgot to use the seal once, it did leak.</p> <p>Also, to set the pump to the right suction/speed is a manual thing, but once you have it set, it remembers your suction/speed, so you don't have to do the manual business anymore. You just hit a button and it goes. BUT, there's also no different suctions/speeds because of this. I know some pumps have a letdown button that goes faster or slower or something. My pump works great though and I like how it has the petal flanges that massage your breasts while it pumps. And it's convenient that I can pump directly into the same bottles that Xander takes at daycare, so I don't have to do much transferring.</p> <p>The only thing with Avent that might be a concern (that I can think of) is that it only has two different sized flanges, the normal and a larger one. It crapped out on me after not even a month of use. You have to start pumping manually and the lever that you use to do that malfunctioned in the down position which painfully pulled my nipples hard into the pump. The bottles also ALWAYS leaked when in the fridge cooling before freezing (we never used them for feeding, so I'm not sure if they would have leaked with a nipple on them, but did with the cap).</p> <p>Luckily BBB allowed me to exchange it due to a manufacture defect and I got the Medela PISA. But I haven't heard ANYTHING about the Avent pump - does anyone have any experience with it? Should I stick with my original, and just transfer pumped milk? </p>
