@TrailRunner: i have heard that too, but also read some stories where people said it made no difference on their ovulation, so i thought for this month i would try taking every day and see what happens.

I am officially on 10dpo! i looked back at my charting the past 6 months and the longest LP I had was 8 days! I only had concrete data on 3 months, and then 2 months where i had a positive OPK and estimated a short LP, and one month where i skipped the OPK. But basically this seems to be my longest LP since i started trying in November! If I make it to tomorrow morning without AF, I will be thrilled!

It is obviously just a coincidence i am sure that as soon as i buy B6, my LP gets longer. But i started it today (on 10dpo) and shall continue :)

When I did some reading up on it it seemed like some people felt it delayed ovulation for then if they started taking it at the beginning of their cycle, so they started waiting until after they o'd to take it. Not sure how true that it is, but thought I would share.

@mrsrugbee: great that's exactly the one I bought :). I'm currently on 9 dpo now and wonder if I should start on the b complex tomorrow morning? It's probably too late to have an effect on this cycle? I'm expecting to get AF sometime tomorrow as is.

@Bea: thanks!

I took b-100 complex for my second PP cycle cause my LP was 7½ days. I got pregnant the following cycle so obviously something lengthened it.

Went with the complex because they're more effective together and the 100 complex capsules were slow-release, whereas the 50 ones weren't

@TrailRunner: i bought the same one today and will start taking it tomorrow. good luck to you and definitely update!!

@auggiefrog: some of my googling said that taking it can also delay ovulation, so it is best to take it in your cycle right after O. But I also read that lots of people take it the whole time and it works. I am going to take it daily for a month or two and if i find my O date gets even later, then i will try taking it only after O.

@Bea: congrats on your BFP! I have been hearing about clomid since I joined TTC boards, but don't know much about it. If i hit the one year mark of TTC, i think i will talk to my doctor about it.

@travelgirl1: so she had a miscarriage for her second BFP? :(

@californiadreams: My friend took it after trying for a while. She got BFP the next month both tries.
She took:50mg of B6 along with b50 complex, which she says has folic acid in as well as another 50mg of B6.
She just had a miscarriage so is on the same dose to try again.

B complex --don't remember dosage
Of the 6-8 cycles I used it it lengthened my LP by a couple days all but two cycles. On those, it didn't do anything.
I did not get a BFP on it. I quit it and got my BFP a few months later on Clomid.
I know there are many that have had positive outcomes!

I took both super b complex and B6, I'm not sure of the dosage off hand. I found that on Super B Complex my O date was always on the later side, so I stopped taking it after a few cycles.
When taking B6, I noticed that my P date wasn't pushed back, yet my LP was pretty consistently 12 days. Before taking anything my LP was anywhere between 9 and 12 days. After taking both super b and b6 it has pretty consistently been 12 and even 13 days.

I took Femaprin - a combination of Vitex and 100mg B6 - for over three months hoping to extend my luteal phase, which is usually 8-9 days. I eventually stopped taking it because my luteal phase didn't increase at all. I've asked my RE about it and she said an 8 day luteal phase is not a problem.

I just started taking a B-complex with 100mg of B-6 in it. I read the labels on a few different B-complex options and the 100mg was the highest amount of B-6 I could find. I think I read somewhere that over 100mg of B-6 can make your hands/arms tingle? I'm not sure on that tho.

I don't know for sure if it has helped. Right now I'm approx 6-7 DPO (first cycle taking the complex), but I am having intense period like cramps. I am assuming my period will show up end of this week. I'll update once I know for sure if it helped.

Hi bees

I want to start taking vitamin B this cycle as I have been averaging an 8 to 9 day luteal phase since I started charting and TTC for my second LO 6 months ago.

I have been reading up on it online and cannot seem to find any recommendations for all the options I mentioned in the title.

If you have taken vitamin B to lengthen LP, can you answer the following questions:

Which B vitamin did you take and why? (B6, B12, B-complex)

What dose did you take?

And did it help?
---Specifically, did it lengthen your LP and/or did you get a BFP soon after?
