Then one day out of the blue, she started babbling and it's been non stop ever since. She started babbling at around 8.5-9 months. I wouldn't worry about it just yet. I wouldn't worry about it. She was like your lo - the occasional dada or something here or there but that was it. (She is 8.5 now). BUT, she didn't sit well by herself for longer than a few seconds until around 6.5 months. It all evens out! Just literally woke up one day and he started doing it. Before it was just shrieks (I hated those. He will do the occasional baba but that's about it. Otherwise just little shrieks or vowel sounds. I'm trying to tell myself all babies develop differently but I'm starting to get a little worried. Anyone else have a late babbler? </p> <p>FYI, he has hit most other milestones okay - isn't crawling yet, but seems pretty advanced with his fine motor skills (e.g., can feed himself with a spoon, without making a mess, if you put the food on for him). </p>
