I've always had a catnapper until I repeatedly stayed home and worked on a strict nap schedule. I read the No Cry Sleep Solution and worked off of that (but not rigidly). We were able to get on the 2-3-4 schedule and then 3-3 schedule. Only caveat is that she will ONLY nap at home now. No stroller naps, no car naps. But I'll take it (because we were only getting 20-25 min naps at that age.)

I don't have first hand experience because my LO needs to nap like her life depends on it! But my friend who's LO is the same age can pretty much stay awake all day too without napping and is happy enough...she pushed her around in the pram at nap times until she was around 6mths and then sleep trained by CIO.

@LovelyPlum: @lamariniere: @sarahbs: I'm sorry you all can commiserate with me :(

It's my work at home day and this no nap thing is killing me. After 20 minutes of rocking she took a 10 minute nap. Does that even count as a nap?!?

Commiserating here too...Baby D is almost 15 weeks and naps have been terrible lately! I used to be able to count on him to sleep well at night, but that's gone downhill too! I can't even get him to sleep in the car like he used to (it used to conk him right out!).

@MrsH: I'm sorry, but I laughed when I read the title because my DD did the EXACT SAME THING today. 2 really crappy 30 minute naps and completely passed out for the night just awhile ago. But her night sleep has been really crappy lately too...she's been up every hour or two for the past few days and I'm EXHAUSTED! So no advice, just commiserating. :sad:

I'm not sure how old your baby is, but my son was never a big napper. Thirty minute cat naps until he was about 8 months old. We still have to go for stroller or car rides for naps and he's 20 months. I gave up on trying to force him to sleep. He's a healthy and happy kid who has low sleep needs!

My child has not really believed in naps to this point, either, but she's younger than your dd. she's only within the last two days started sleeping during the day for any real length of time. Hugs, Mama!

All babies are so different. If your LO doesn't seem tired or doesn't seem cranky from lack of sleep, she may just not need as much sleep as other babies!

E has dropped all of her naps. She may pass out from exhaustion for twenty or thirty minutes two times a day but otherwise she is not interested in taking naps. Prior to this point she usually took two naps that were an hour to two hours long.

She sleeps well at night and in general is a happy baby.

Please help. Is this the point where we need to nap train?
