Sometimes with seasonal allergies their eyes get red and irritated as well. It is a little tough to differentiate the two, but i'd say allergies don't often come with a fever, or as high a fever (may be different for babies/kids though, I don't know). It has hit my family the past few springs, even when most of us usually aren't affected by it. However pollen counts in our area went up to record-breaking highs one year and apparently it hit a lot more people who were never affected by them before. And ever since then, Zyrtec and Allegra have been my friends! We opted not to give LO anything though because her symptoms weren't as bad. Staying indoors more helped too so that's how I knew.

@chopsuey119: yeah, maybe that's the way to go. if it doesn't go away, like a cold would, then it could be allergies.

@Andrea: I was going to call my pediatrician, but I call them so often they know who I am. :D Figure if it doesn't clear up in a day or two I'll give them a call.

I have been wondering the same thing. How do you know if it's allergies or a cold?

Does your LO have seasonal allergies?
DD has been sneezing and her nose has been runny..
No other symptoms.
I'm wondering if it's the pollen in the air? Or if she caught something from one of the babies she had a play date with :T
