My lo naps in his crib and sleeps at night in the upper portion of the pnp. He's 6 months. We will probably go at least 3 more months in our room.

Thanks for all the advice everyone! I was worried that it was stupid to assume I could use it longer and to just move the crib in there. But I think we'll have to be flexible any way, but for the first few months at least it should be fine... phew!

We could only use the top section for the first couple of months. After that both my kids started kicking in their sleep, which made the basket part shake and then wake them up. :/ So we had to move to the bottom section which for me is more of a PITA than the crib because you have to lean down all the way. That said, I know plenty of people who used the PNP much longer than us.

We could only use the bassinet portion for about 2 months before it felt unsafe.
After that, he jus seemed a lot more comfy in his crib, but we will occasionally use the PNP on the low setting.

He slept in it for 4w next t our bed. Then he moved into his own room. He was so tiny, he could have stayed in there a lot longer.
We had him in the bassinet portion.

She definitely will not be able to stay in the top part until a year. Once she can sit up and/or get on all fours it's not safe any more. If you plan to have her in your room for a full year I'd just put the crib in there. That being said, remember things don't always work out how you expect them too. We learned around four months that all three of sleep infinitely better with baby in her own room.

We have the exact pnp you will be using. LO slept the bassinet part next to our bed until 7 months, but she's very tiny for her age. The instructions say the weight limit for the bassinet is 15 lbs, which she reached at about 7 1/2 minths. She is 9 months now and still in the same spot in our room, we just took off the bassinet part. We don't have a plan to move her to a crib anytime soon.

Our LO is almost 7 months and still sleeps in the PnP. The bassinet portion has a weight limit, which he hit at 4.5 or 5 months. He now sleeps in the bottom part. It took a little getting used to reaching so far down for him, but I adjusted pretty quickly. He didn't need to adjust because it's the same mattress. I have no complaints. It's very convenient when we travel because he's already used to it as a bed, so the different environment has less of an effect on him. Some don't like the mattress, but preference for a cushy mattress is learned and our guy seems comfortable on it. It's also safer to have a firmer surface. We're planning to keep this configuration until at least a year, as we're in a small 1 bedroom apartment.

My first LO slept in there for 4.5 months. My second LO has been sleeping in the same PnP for almost 3 months. I think the weight restriction is 15 lbs before you lower the mattress to the bottom.

I know people whose LOs have slept in the PnP for over a year. Like everyone else said you will just have to move it down once she can sit up and try to get herself out.

4 hours the first stretch, 2-3 hours the second stretch. We retired the pack n play at 7 weeks because she was keeping me awake making little noises, now she sleeps in her room and we use a monitor. We do bring it to grandma's house with us, though.

We use a Pnp in our room. At 4 months we had to recently stop using the bassinet part as he is too heavy for it.

There is a weight restriction but also you would stop using the top once they can start pulling up or sitting up.

Once your lo can get on hands & knees or can sit up the bassinet portion is no longer safe (the sides just come up high enough). They could definitely still sleep in the regular portion of the PNP though! =)

We did 4 months in the PNP in our room. After that we transitioned her to a crib in her own room. That timing worked out really well for us, since she was a good independent sleeper by then. At 15 months we still have her sleep in a PNP on trips, so she definitely still fits in it and could have slept in it exclusively until 1 year. It doesn't seem as comfortable to me though as her crib, which is one reason why I'm happier she sleeps mostly in her crib.

Our LO is 20 weeks and still sleeps in the bassinet part of the PNP in our room. I think she would only move to the bottom if she got too heavy for the top.....but at that point I think we will just move her to the crib.

DH and I got a pack n play for baby. Our master is full across the house and we both do not feel comfortable with baby sleeping there right away. Well after more talk, we're thinking we want her in our room for at least a year.

How long did your baby sleep (nighttime sleep- we may do naps in the crib in her nursery) in a PNP? We got the graco one, that has the bassinet top (see picture) - can she sleep on that top bassinet part until she's 1? Will she eventually need to move to sleeping on the bottom? Should we just suck it up and fit the crib in our room?

Trying to decide what configuration works best for us is such a pain!!!!! I'd love to hear what you all did/do.
