@Truth Bombs: oh man. That sounds awful! I didn't realize the test was bad, too! Your poor son :( tamiflu is magic.

@Miss Ariel: yep- she was back in school yesterday. Fever free all day Sunday and playing like normal, so thankfully she had a really mild case and was only really miserable Thursday night and Friday.

@MamaG: I thought it was just puke or diarrhea, but I just double checked and its a fever over 100 too. And technically it was 99.9 when she woke up.....so yeah. Still not awesome either way

My husband has the flu right and he's the last one of us to go down. My son got it early in the season (early Dec when he was 13 months) and it was awful. He tested negative so they didn't give him Tamiflu and he had a 104 degree fever for 5 days straight. Now we're finding out that not only is the vaccine pretty worthless this year, so is the test! The doc told my husband today that the test is only catching about 55% of cases. So I'm quite sure it was flu that he had, at the time his ped and both nurses were shocked his test was negative just because he was so clearly miserable. My daughter got the flu in January and it was going around her class so when she woke up from a nap with a 102 fever out of the blue I immediately rushed her to urgent care. Luckily she tested positive and they gave us Tamiflu and she was much better in less than 24 hours because we caught it so early. Sadly she did manage to pass it to me and I'm allergic to Tamiflu so I was screwed. It was 5-7 days of pure suck. Hubs started Tamiflu this morning so I'm hopeful he'll be feeling much better by Tuesday

@wheres_c: oh no!! It's hard enough watching my 10 month of be sick, I'm so sorry you had to go through a sickness with your 2 month old! I hope your 4 year old feels better soon!!

@Miss Ariel: yikes!! I guess the flu shot was not super effective this year..... :bummed: and DH sick too? What a crappy weekend! Hope everyone recovers quickly and you don't get it, too!!

The baby is actually being great. I don't know if it's because we started her on tamiflu so quickly, or if having the flu shot is helping- but she barely seems sick. Her fever is gone today (day 4 after diagnosis) and she's stuffy and clingy but otherwise eating fine and playing with her sister. Hoping the fever doesn't come back today so she can go to school tomorrow!

Now we just have to hope my almost 4 year old doesn't get it!

I'm pretty sure my 2-year-old has it, and she also had her flu shot. she started not feeling well Wednesday night and woke up with a fever Thursday morning. She seemed so much better Friday afternoon. But was worse today and dh also woke up with a fever. Since it was still early for him, he went to urgent care and got diagnosed with flu. Hopefully tomorrow is better and she's able to go back to daycare Monday.

@MrsRoo: @wheres_c: hope your los are feeling better too!

Hope your little one is feeling better! My 2 month old just had the flu. It lasted a week. Now we are in South America and my 4 year old has it. The symptoms are way worse for my 4 year old.
How's your babe doing?

I bet with the combo of being vaccinated plus Tamiflu thatcher symptoms will be pretty mild.

@Mrs.Pinecone316: yikes!! Poor thing- how scary for everyone. I've had the flue once so I know how terrible it can get- I just want to be hopeful that my baby doesn't get it so bad. She's too tiny for the flu 😭
@gingerbebe: oh man. Good to hear that it helps! So was your LO "recovered" on day 5?

Tamiflu is magical. Mine was on the mend and seemed wayyy better on day 3 of Tamiflu but then woke up on day 4 with a really pleghmy cough on the chest and a fever. Then was good day 5. So it was up and down a bit.

Daycare called me this morning to tell me that dd2 (10 months) had a fever of 102. She was totally normal this morning, so I didn't think anything of it and took her to the ped to get a return note for school tomorrow. Wellllll, she tested positive for flu A and flu B! AND she had her flu shot this year! Anyway, we've already started her on tamiflu, so hopefully she feels better soon. So far other than a fever and a slight clinginess, she's totally fine.

Anyone else's LO have the flu? Especially as an infant? I'd love to know what I can expect from her over the next several days!
