Hi! I am tandem nursing my 2. I nursed through pregnancy and baby #2 joined after birth and we have been going strong for a year now doing the tandem thing. And my #1 started nursing more frequently when I was pregnant and after the baby was born but now it's slowed down a bit since she turned 2. Hope to be triandem nursing soon. Welcome and good luck :)

LO#1 is 20 months and still nurses in the morning and before bed. I'm not super excited about trying to tandem nurse as he's a bit of a boob monster. I'm afraid he'll hog all the milk from the baby hahahah. But he's very strong willed and will NOT like weaning...so idk... :bummed:

@T.H.O.U.: Thank you!
@LAZB: Thanks friend :D
@MrsSRS: Great idea, thank you so much
@Rockies11: Thank you for sharing. I can totally understand how it would be super overwhelming. I found just nursing a newborn to be completely overwhelming.
@jh524: I want to BF as long as possible. I want him to wean himself. I don't want to wean him and then start BFing the new baby, you know? :( He is just such a little nursing, he loves it so much and so do I. I think base case would be that he weans a few months before I have baby 2. But, who knows???

Hi! Congratulations! I got pregnant with #2 when #1 was 12 months and still nursing all the time. I had no supply issues and she nursed all the way through and then tandem nursed. It's common when you're pregnant to have supply issues, nipple sensitivity and milk changes that cause self-weaning but it doesn't happen all the time. I wanted her to self wean but that didn't happen, so I ended up weaning her when she was 2 because she was nursing more than the newborn and I was having trouble coping with it! My advice is to take it one day at a time and see how it goes. I had an extremely difficult pregnancy and recovery and I put a lot of pressure on myself to keep up nursing. I had a lot of angst about ending our nursing relationship, especially because she'd gone completely off solids at that point, but I needed to and it was actually not a big deal at all after about 2 days. So take care of yourself because you're important - nursing is a two way relationship and both parties have to get enjoyment from it. And if it's still working for you, then it is doable!

I know there are some ladies on here who tandem nursed, so maybe try a thread with that in the title if they don't comment here! Congrats! As long as it's working for you, follow the baby. Maybe LO1 will wean on his own or decrease nursing. 9 months is a loooong time!

Hello everyone
First time poster here
I just found out this morning that I'm a few weeks pregnant with baby #2!! Yay!!!
I have a 11.5 month old who still nurses like a newborn. I'm a little overwhelmed about him weaning, or tandem nursing.
I'm so excited but also stressed about logistics.

Any advice???
