My baby had really dry blotchy skin and baby acne for the first two months or so. We use this http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004MKNUAG/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1378666305&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX110_SY165 and it seemed to really clear her skin up.

We use cetaphil, the kind in a tub rather than the kind in a pump bottle, per our pediatrician's recommendation. Well, we use the Target brand that says "compare with cetaphil", but it seems to work just as well. It also helped a lot with his eczema. It works really well and doesn't leave him all greasy. I also like that we can just share lotion.

LO had absolutely awful baby acne for over a month. It's just now clearing up at 9 weeks. I used (and still do, occasionally) babyganics eczema cream. It worked great to keep her moisturized, and seemed to calm down the acne, although we did have to just wait it out for the most part.

DS was born in the winter and had bad acne/redness too. I used California Baby calendula cream and his skin cleared up right away.

Avi had baby acne on her cheeks and I put some breast milk on it 1-2 times a day and it cleared right up. Coconut oil helped too, and was great for the few dry spots she developed.

Ok I'll try the cetaphil. Regular, right? Not special for babies?

We also were told to use cetaphil. It helped it clear up! You can also exfoliate gently with a damp washcloth and then apply the lotion.

I used Cetaphil moisturizing cream all over DS since birth. It is my favorite lotion for dry skin.

C (6 weeks old) had some baby acne all over her face, mostly around the outside- near her hairline, cheeks near her ears. It seems to be getting better but now the skin seems really dry and kind of rough. Any suggestions on how to sooth the skin? Lotions that are ok for her face? Or should I leave her be since it doesn't seem to bother her?

We only wash her face with water on a clean washcloth and don't currently use any lotions.
