@Mrs. Turtle: I agree. You can't be too careful with your situation. Oddly for both my boys, aquaphor was amazing on their acne.

@ladybee: Thanks! Took him in today and the doc said just a bad breakout of acne. It's starting to resolve already this evening. At least now we have an explanation for his mom!

I'd probably try a bath and some aquaphor on a patch or two until we could see the doctor.

Hm, I think it looks like a reaction. Like he was snuggling his face/head into something. Or rubbing a lot. I'd take him in just to be sure, especially since you can't give him Benadryl.

@MrsSRS: Yeah he's sensitive but we haven't changed detergents and we use a "ecofriendly" one, not a baby one. My parents use something similar.

Unfortunately it's worse this evening, more red and more bumps. Ugh. Still isn't bothering him, still no fever and no where else on his body. Benadryl isn't approved so I need to get that on the list tomorrow. I might end up taking him in, as I hate showing up to visits with a baby with an unknown rash. His bio mom won't be happy.

When I was a nanny the last baby I had was so sensitive that the mom and I had to switch to dreft for our clothes because she broke out like that from snuggling us. It cleared up on its own once exposure stopped.

@Littlebit7: I thought sunscreen at first but they didn't put any on. And we brought clothes, so no detergent exposure unless he rubbed his face on something there, which is very possible.

@peaches1038: Good idea, I'll check our paperwork and see. If not I can call in the morning and get it approved. Thanks!

Heat rash maybe? But usually that's not on the face. Is Benadryl on your approved list of meds? Maybe see if a dose of that will help clear it up.

maybe a new sunscreen, detergent?? something they were using at their house that you don't use at yours?

@MrsSRS: I was thinking it could be a reaction. Maybe lotion. He has super sensitive skin so that makes sense. Coconut oil won't make the acne worse? I was worried about putting oil on acne.

My vote is baby acne or a mild reaction to something. Like a lotion or fabric softener? Maybe try coconut oil.

T came home from my parents Friday with a few little red bumps on his nose. Saturday morning he woke up about like this and it hasn't improved sin every then. The rash is only around his eyes, over his nose and on the top of his head. It looks basically like acne before but I thought that was usually on younger babies? And does it come up so suddenly? Doesn't seem to bother him and he doesn't have a fever. Any ideas? Ways to make it go away before his visit tomorrow afternoon?!
