I would include it. I like the suggestion of making it black and white too.

I had a c-section and my DH missed the birth. The anesthesiologist was helping to take photos and captured every moment of my DS being pulled out. It was a little graphic for me but I plan to include some in our photo book because it is also kind of cool.

Try it in black and white. We had one c-section pic like that and it didn’t seem so graphic in black and white.

I say if you like it, include it. I think your daughter will find it interesting.

Both my baby books have photos from my c-sections in them. My four year old thinks it’s really cool, although he says “I’m glad I’m not a girl because I don’t want to get cut open!” I’d put them in.

I’d put it in. I made a baby photo and pregnancy book for my kid and I ended up with a csection, but if I had pics of it or a pic like yours I would put it in. Kids are interested and it’s part of their story. I don’t think it will be too graphic or scary.

ETA: you’d just have to explain why she was crying. But my three year old loves seeing pics of her as a baby and there is one pic of her on the scale, crying, and her mini local cord is a bit bloody and I just told her she is crying because babies come out and they’re cold and they cry and she was very accepting. She now says “when I was a baby I was in the hospital and I cried”. Lol

I am starting to work on a baby album photobook for my twins.

My husband took this awesome birth photo of Baby B, and I can’t decide whether or not to include it in the album. The photo captures the moment she was born and before we clipped the cord. So, it is kind of graphic.

In the photo, she is crying and covered in blood, held by my OB’s surgical glove-covered hands, with her umbilical cord still attached to her belly button.

The photo is cropped so that you can only see the baby. You can’t see me but it is obvious that the cord is not cut. Plus, again, she is covered in blood because that is how she was born.

Anyway, I think it is an amazing photo but my gut says to leave it out of the album because it is graphic.

Thoughts?
