Definitely bring her and support your DH. I agree with @Anagram though...take her out if she's fussy or starts to cry.

Totally take her, but please leave the service if she starts to cry. I'll never forget the funeral for a friend's mother--her mother had died suddenly and fairly young in a terrible accident and it was one of the saddest, most heart wrenching funerals I've ever been to.

But a baby was scream crying throughout all of the eulogies, and the mother never left the sanctuary and people were getting very disgruntled that they couldn't hear what was being said at all. It was very distracting.

I’d take her; if it’s a large funeral, I’m sure she won’t be the only baby/small child there anyway.

I would take her and just sit on the outside, I did this with my grandpa's funeral. Actually I think a 6 month old is easier in these situations than a toddler who wants to talk/run. But I'm someone who doesn't believe in leaving the children out of funerals/celebrations of life. It's a tough concept but they all need to learn about the circle of life (granted 6 months is very young for this.) Sorry for your loss!

Absolutely. She's young enough where she doesn't understand. If she likes to be worn you can wear her and she'll likely be quiet the whole time.

So sorry for you and your husband and the partners family.

My DH's uncle passed away when DS was a little under a year. What we did was bring DS to the wake, but not the funeral. We figured it might help cheer people up or distract them to see DS. So I wore him for a while and then FIL carried him around for while.

We decided not to bring him to the funeral because I didn't think he could sit still for that long. But at 6m, I think I'd just bring the baby and sit in the back if possible so if they get loud, you can slip out for a few minutes.

I took my 6 month old to my bestie's mom's funeral. It was fine - there were lots of children there. I just sat on the aisle and stepped out when she got fussy.

I would, just try to sit on the outside of the row so you can escape to the hallway if needed. We've been taking my LO to mass since she was about 6 months and as long as we take food and quiet toys, she has usually been good. Besides, people will understand.

I hate to even have to post this :(
My husbands partner passed in a car accident
His service is Wednesday and my husband really needs my support and I want to pay my respects!
The service is that of Law Enforcement stature!
Our dd is 6 months, and unfortunately all sitter options are out for that day :(
Mom is out of town, MIL working, sister can't get off,Friends that we trust will be there! Her private sitter that she will attend is also closed this week she is on vacation!
So my question is would you take LO at that age?
She is amazingly good out, but I dont know?
