Hugs, Mama!

We all sleep together in one room, but my SIL has a similar situation to you. I know she uses a pretty loud white noise machine for her light sleeper.

Another idea might be for the toddler to sleep in your bed for a few days while the baby gets used to the crib situation. You sleep in the toddler's bed in the kids' room. (I dunno if that might create a situation of your toddler not wanting to go back to his bed after the transition days??)

Alternatively, you could set the crib up in another room... like the living room... for the transitional nights. Once he's acclimated to it you'd just move itback

Ok, I'm not really sure where to put this and sorry if I ramble...we really need our baby and toddler to share a room. We only have a two bedroom and the unpredictable sleep has been really unsustainable lately. Our 2 year old sleeps in his own room but is a light sleeper. Baby is 7.5 months and has been sleeping in our room in a sidecar arrangement but he recently started crawling in.his.sleep! That, along with the fact that he still wakes up several times a night is really hard. Apart from wake-ups because of teething and milestones, he is waking up when we come into the bedroom- me, then DH and then when DH leaves in the morning. Sometimes I can nurse him back to sleep, but recently with the crawling it's just not working out and all of us are waking each other up.
We have a crib in the toddler's room ready to go- but every time we have tried to put him down in there the kids wake each other up and I end up bringing the baby back to our room...so then we're back to disrupting our sleep. I want to try this out again tonight since there's no preschool tomorrow, but I feel like I need to do something different because whatever we've been doing is not working out. Has anyone had to make this room sharing situation work? Any advice for me on how to make it happen?
If you made it through all that, thanks for reading.
