I've taken it - they once thought I had clotting issues and then decided no, but said no harm in taking it anyway. They did say clotting issues won't affect you before a bfp. I had an RE tell me same thing. I would just mention it if you do get a Bfp and are taking it. Fwiw I've had both successful pregnancy and repeat chemicals while taking it but sometimes I think it just helps to think you are doing something.

I had a MC in August, started using baby aspirin the next cycle, and got pregnant (I'm 18 weeks now). There is at least one study to suggest that baby aspirin is effective even for women who have only had one previous miscarriage (see here for a summary: http://www.medpagetoday.com/meetingcoverage/smfm/37402)

I myself don't have a history of bleeding/clotting disorders and in fact have family history of early stroke and heart disease (many of my family members take a daily baby aspirin for preventive reasons), so I was comfortable taking it. I would definitely suggest consulting with your OB.

I had the same experience as @T.H.O.U.: --started taking it after 2 mc's in a row when I got the third bfp. I took it throughout my pregnancy until the last week or so with my prenatal and fish oil. I told my OB early on that I was doing it and she questioned whether I needed it, but didn't tell me to stop.

@knittylady: I know a little more background and I think given recent events, this midwifery practice is too hands off/laid back. I def suggest an OB (and I know a few awesome ones in the area).

@knittylady: so what my Pb said was that if you have a clotting disorder as everything forms even the smallest clot can essentially cut blood supply off. But that would only apply once the baby is sharing blood supply. So I would think you'd have time to get the BFP test first before worrying about starting BA. But I think that also means it may not apply to helping with chemicals because I would assume there the loss is happening before blood supply is shared.

I would talk to a doctor because I had a SCH that eventually I needed to go off the BA.

@Banana330: This is the third, the first was before DS1. I'm seeing midwives now, but wondering if I should make an appt with an OB as they've been pretty hands off through all of this...

Are you able to get into your doctor since you've had a few CPs? I would think they would do some testing to see what's up. Sorry you're going through this

@knittylady: I would chat to your doc if you're going. Generally progesterone and baby aspirin are the recommendations after multiple losses. Because they only do testing after 3, my OB suggested both as treatments that couldn't hurt but often help.

I tested "slightly high" on one of the coagulating tests I took after my second loss. And I have MTHFR (which can affect clotting)

No doctor told me to take it, but after researching MTHFR, I started taking it right away and let my doctors know (they didn't fight me on it). I only think a doctor would if they know of existing conditions/bleeding disorders it might harm?

I got pregnant once, but lost that pregnancy to a trisomy.

We've only just started TTC again.

But beyond TTC, it made my periods a ton more manageable. They aren't as clotty and I think the clots were what made my cramps unbearable, so even just for that, it's worth it.

Did anyone try baby aspirin to help get pregnant? Did a doctor tell you to try it or did you take it on your own?

Can you tell I'm grasping at straws?
