Oh I feel your pain! Poor baby :-( It's so hard to listen to that and not be able to make it better.

I used the saline spray to help break up the congestion and help prevent the snot from going down the back of her throat and causing her cough. I had a warm mist humidifier in her room (the cool mist didn't seem to do anything) and I put her on an incline to help her breathing. I put Vicks on a washcloth and hung it over the side of her crib.

Hope your LO feels better soon!

@regberadaisy: our babies are twins seriously they started daycare at the same time and now are sick at the same time. Fingers crossed they both feel better very very quickly! Sorry M had to go back to the daycare, hopefully she sleeps a lot that way the day will go by faster for her. Why do little babies get sick? So wrong!
@Mrs. Sunglasses: Aww poor Sienna, hope she feels better asap!
@artbee: hopefully baby bells doesnt get sick for a long time after this cough clears up.

Sienna is sick too. Stuffy nose, coughing. No fun. The saline helps a lot. But it takes her longer to get over it. :( hope yours feels better soon. Sick babies are no fun.

@Mrsbells: seriously, do we have the same baby?
M is sick as well with the same symptoms. I stayed home yesterday and am back at work today.

Dang daycare.

I didn't use the saline spray because I didn't want to. But I gave her bath in a hot steamy room twice yesterday and nose frida'd a lot! Breaks my heart to hear her little cough. :(

And oh a cool mist humidifier at night.
Unfortunately, M is back at day care today. :(

My LO was sick at 8 months for about a week. We pretty much did the same as you, saline drops and humidifier. It went away on its own, got better every day, and she hasn't been sick since (knock on wood!) Hope your LO feels better soon!

My poor baby has a cough and runny nose and keeps sneezing. I didnt go to work yesterday I took her to see the doctor even though she had no fever her cough really bothered me and there are no cough meds for infants! Her cough is also very intermittent; she will cough for a while and then go an hour or two without coughing then it will be back again. The doctor didnt want to give her any meds she just advised using saline spray with a nozzle (not the squeezy bottle), steam humidifier and put a bit of vicks baby ruby on the front of her onesie. This is the first time she has been sick and it really sucks listening to her little nose and chest being all clogged up. sadly I am back at work today but i called my mom to come and take care of her at home so she wouldnt have to go to the daycare. What do you do for you infant when they are congested?
