I don't think the hip dysplasia thing is a huge concern - everything I've read said it just potentially exacerbates preexisting tendencies (not causes them). We still use ours at 17 months and it is ok re: hips etc. </p> <p>I think the hip thing may be a little overhyped for a newborn, but I can't imagine extended babywearing with a crotch dangler! LO initially liked it so we used it a lot, but he grew fast and didn't like it by 3 months. I don't think the hip dysphasia stuff is very valid-hyped by the babywearing industrial complex. It is ugly!! The most basic understanding I have of babywearing is that there is supposed to be knee to knee support - and several of those pictures don't have it. Why do you think your husband wouldn't like a Boba or Tula? Mine has happily worn our Boba, in a purple panel print, with our son.
