If you want something less bulky, then I'd suggest trying a mei tai or Connecta (which is like a mei tai but with buckles instead of straps to tie).

I found the beco really easy to get on and can be used from 7lbs which is nice! Love it.

I also love my Lillebaby. I have a crappy neck and back and could never wear DD for more than 30 mins at a time. When I was pregnant with DS I bought a Lillebaby and am so happy I did. I wore him for 2 hours today at an outdoor event and it was super comfy. And he's 18 pounds. I hope I can continue to wear him for a long time.

@Ali-oop: have you ever tried a mei tai? The infantino one (sold at Target, last I checked) is pretty cheap ($30?) and popular! Otherwise, I *love* my ring sling for the newborn squishy days. I ordered mine from Sleeping Baby Productions and it was very reasonably priced ($70?).

@Veggie: I second this, if you can find a local baby wearing group it can be SO helpful!

@nana87: have you tried just the butt part of the infant insert? I find that helps once they're a bit bigger and don't need the neck support to take off the padded back and just use the little butt cushion.

@Ali-oop: I have a Tula which I love. Used till almost 2 with my first. They also make a grow with me version now that doesn't need the insert. I'm not sure if it works as well for older babies but I'm pretty jealous it didn't exist when I bought mine because the insert is annoying. I also have a solly stretchy wrap that I love. It's pretty easy to wrap once you've done it a couple times.

I love my Lillebaby but for the infant stage I highly recommend the entry level basic Baby Bjorn. So easy to slip on and off. We used it for the early days I am a huge fan. My daughter lived in it from like month 1-3.

With lo2 I've been using a ring sling (from wildbird) most often, followed by the solly baby wrap and then the tula. I feel like they have different purposes, lol. Ring sling is easiest to put on but less comfy for long periods; solly is my favorite but annoying to put on if I'm not at home/going from stroller/car seat to holding her multiple times. Tula is harder to put on by myself but she's most stable in there, though at 3 months she's a little too big for the infant insert and too small for it without.

First pregnancy I had a moby and ergo, also a bjorn one carrier. I like the ones I have now way more

I bought a Lillebaby embossed style carrier for my new baby. I hate my Ergo because my back always hurt for a week after wearing my son. Lillebaby carriers have a lumbar support that I think will really help me. And it doesn't require an infant insert! I haven't worn my baby yet (due in a couple weeks) but I was able to put my 3 year old on my back while 35 weeks pregnant and it was comfortable. I put it on my sister and we stuck her 2 month old in it and they both loved it. I think my sister is debating returning her carrier for one.

I find the Tula easier than ergo! Also check out the nesting days one -- good for newborn and is foolproof.

I used the baby Ktan until LO was about 15 pounds and then the Tula afterwards. I love them both. Super easy.

I have a Beco Gemini and a (standard) Tula. I love them both! You can use the Gemini starting at 7 lbs, and the Tula starting at 15 lbs. Now that my youngest has surpassed the minimum weight for the Tula, that's the carrier I reach for the most. There is an infant insert for the Tula that is designed for 7-15 lbs, but because I already owned a Gemiii (from my oldest), I didn't get the infant insert.

Do you have a local chapter of baby wearing international? My local one has a lending library so people can borrow/ try them out before buying.

Hi everyone! I have a 21 month with another due in 4 weeks. I have a feeling I will be doing quite a bit of baby wearing at first and am looking for a new carrrier. I already have the ergobaby but it's so bulky for day to day wearing. Any recommendations for a carrier that isn't so bulky and easy to get on?
