I don't see what the big deal is of a baby wearing just a onesie!! I still can't believe people would criticize a Mom or Dad for taking their baby out in one. Sheesh.

@artbee: I don't think we're wrong! :) Just onesies are fine with me and look super cute.

We also don't have any shorts for LO, so it's pants or nothing... but seriously, there was a woman at Rhythm Time last week (it was in the upper-80s at least and most places don't have AC) and her son was dressed in a onesie, a long sleeved shirt, denim overalls, thick socks, a hat and a fleece jacket.
I just kept thinking that the poor boy must be dying! I'd much rather have people judge me for having my baby in a cute onesie than have him overheated.

Hard to say now because my mom is here and she definitely OVERDRESSES the baby! And we're home a lot right now with the AC on so lately it's been onesie with a sleep n play over it. But then she just turned a month.
Today I actually got my mom to let me put just a long sleeved onesie and cotton pants on her! GASP!

In hot weather I would probably put onesie & shorts too!

I am totally a fan of just the onesie at home and I am really paranoid about overdressing when it's hot, but I still feel the need to put bottoms on her when we go out. I have no idea why I do it - it's always just shorts, which on a baby are about the size of a diaper cover. Honestly, I think it might just be because she looks so darn adorable in shorts.

Also I would never judge anyone for just a onesie in hot weather! Isn't that what we would all rather be wearing?

I think just a onesie is fine as long as he weather allows. My baby hates being hot so we only put a onesie on her

I wrote a post like this too because I always just dressed my LO in a onesie, but at 10 months I started feeling like it was time to wear bottoms. And pretty much everyone on here said that they always put bottoms on their LO. I'm in Florida, it's hot, I thought a onesie was ok. Guess I was wrong though.

I think it is ok but I heard a couple talking about my parenting skills when I was at Target a couple of weeks ago...can you believe that woman? that baby is underdressed in public! :-) To me....temperatures in the 90s + quick errand = ok for me to dress my baby in an onesie only!

I'm sure there was a thread like this before, but I couldn't find it...

It's been really warm here the past week or so and I've been dressing LO accordingly. In a cute onesie and little socks usually.
But at the baby groups I've been to I noticed that I'm the only one! All the other babies are in at least a onesie layered under a little "outfit". LO is nearly 13 weeks and I think he looks so cute in a little printed onesie. I feel like perhaps it's a British thing that I don't get (being an expat). I mean I'm from Texas where the weather is definitely warmer so maybe that's it...

What do y'all think?
