The my friend huggles dolls are about the same size as my LO who is 2 years old so she LOVES the bia doll too. I also chose a Corolle Calin. She seems to treat it differently from her stuffed animals. If yours is turning 1, I highly recommend a doll stroller to go with it. We have the $10 one from Target and it gets more use than just about any other toy we've got!
