DD2 has terribly sensitive skin and eczema flares. We're still using just Cetaphil Baby gentle wash for her baths at 9 months. It did seem to improve a bit once she started pulling up a month ago (the scooting/crawling all the time made it worse).

When it got really bad (and was pretty widespread) around 6 months our pediatrician suggested wet dressings at nighttime. I'd never heard about it but it worked amazingly well for us. Apparently nightly baths are actually really good for eczema (I had previously thought the opposite) so we'd bathe her, put steroid cream on the worst spots, cover her in cream (our ped recommended Cutemol, which is really thick) and then wet cotton PJs. We covered that with a dry sleep sack but the ped said we didn't need to and assured us she wouldn't get cold from the wet PJs. The wet dressings pretty much cleared up the rash in 3-4 days - it was amazing.

We also use coconut oil on the dry spots on her face, either alone or with a little Aquaphor on top.

We had been using aquaphor, but it wasn't really healing it only keeping it from getting worse.
Our pediatrician recommended Cereve Cream, which is different than the Cereve lotion. It comes in a round tub instead of a pump bottle. We slather than on at night and it really helped heal DD's skin.

@FaithFertility: Thank you!

@LAZB: I will see the pediatrician if it doesn't improve based on these suggestions, in case we need something more.

He seems to love the vanicream, so at least it must feel good!

@FaithFertility: Thank you! I hadn't heard of baking soda. We usually bathe everyday, but I'm going to go to using soap less often except on the areas that need it.

@cake2017: Eucerin and aveeno
Lotion up when skin is still damp after bath.
We live in FL so he gets a bath daily but soap every 2-3 days
Baking soda or oatmeal can help calm skin

He has a HC 2% when it gets bad from Dr.

My little girl was plagued with ezcema. We used to bath her twice a day with porridge oats. I used to put some oats in a muslin and use it as a type of sponge with warm water. It was a super quick bath. It worked wonders. We used and still do to this day La Roche Posay Lipikar balm as a moisturiser. Never looked balm. I'm a nurse and we use this methid to help with patients skin.

Dove baby bodywash and vanicream. Really lather and rub in the vanicream after baths. Our pedi said If the eczema is really flared up we can add a pea sized drop of hydrocortisone 1% to every quarter sized amount of Vanicream. And if it’s really bad on her cheeks I also put on some lansinoh when she goes to bed.
