Hold a baby and then when it cries, happily hand the baby back to the mother!

Works for me every time!

Another one for the pre-baby list... Definitely helped me keep my time occupied while we were waiting to TTC.

I will echo the pre-baby to do list :) this really helped me (and still does currently)

I only really have one thing left on it (to see the Colosseum) and the list will be all finished by the end of April eeep :)

I included things that couldn't be done with a newborn - ie going to the drag races (for the first time ever) and it really gave me a boost to get out and try new things :)

I have tried the babysitting thing and that USED TO help but now we are so close to TTC it just makes me "awwwww" hehehe. We were at a mates place on the weekend and I had taken the hostess' 6 month old while she was finishing up in the kitchen and even thou he was screaming his little lungs out for 50% of the time I was still hit with baby fever hehe didnt help that my DH had this look on his face of, I guess you'd call it happiness but it was more than that. I was almost like stuff the list lets start now hehehe

@berdine: I'm a birth photographer, so I've had baby fever for a long time ... way before we were ready to try. I think for me, it was about talking through it with my partner every few months. We knew it was eventual, but talking it through enforced that we weren't quite ready. We also set reachable goals: ie, saving enough for an out of pocket birth (not that we need it, but knowing it's there is awesome), etc. Every time we'd reach a goal, we knew we were a little closer, and we'd re-evaluate! :)

Babysitting helps.

I would look into hobbies trips and make a pre baby todo list.

You could babysit someone's kid for a day, and it may curb the fever a bit ;)

My husband and I aren't going to TTC yet, want to wait another year and a half or so, but I have baby fever badly! I logically know we shouldn't have a baby yet (don't want to be the first of our friends, want to continue building our business so I can quit my 9-5 job and work from home after the baby comes), but we get a lot of pressure from his family and babies are just so darn cute. Any way to curb the fever??
