@knittylady: I'm enjoying lo2 (3 months) so much I could totally see us trying for a 3rd of things were right. But real life is not gonna let that happen. :P Funny thing is I didn't have baby fever for my second, would have loved to skip the infant stage. I'm afraid if we tried for a third we'd get a second fussy one though!

I thought I would only want two, but I keep thinking about having a third now that my second is about 5 months old. He's such an easy baby compared to his older brother. He sleeps through the night, rarely cries, smiles all the time, etc. I think if my third were like him, I could handle three kids no problem. But my first was a high needs baby who was always fussy and didn't sleep through the night until he was 18 months old! I don't know if I could handle another baby like that while taking care of two other kids as well. Plus, I feel like some things are easier with two kids, like traveling (you can all fit in a standard car, can all sleep in one hotel room). Having three kids is such a foreign idea to me, since most people I know opted for smaller families.

We won't be trying for #3 for probably 4.5? 5? years? But I wish I could try in about a year.

We are currently trying for #3. We have a 2.5 year old and a 1 year old (almost!) The goal was to be 12ish weeks pregnant when I go back to work ( next week!) but that didn't happen this time. Sometimes I get really freaked out having them all so close together, but it's what works best for my husband and I ( and what we both want. ) Anyone who knows our plans think we are absolutely crazy, but we're really excited

For us, that idea of looking around and do you feel like someone is missing, was so hard. We are so happy with our life as a family of four. But when we look down the road to our daughters wedding, there are more than just the four of us.

I'm still pregnant with #2. We are most definitely done after this baby but I cant accept it. I've been washing and ironing E's newborn clothes in preparation for 2's arrival in April, and just feeling so sad that, when this baby grows out of them, I will have to donate them. I always wanted 3 children and it just feels like someone will always be missing.

@skipra: haha isn't that how it goes? After DS1 was born we pretty much were NTNP because we knew we wanted a second. I would say, "if it happens it happens." Then it happened 6 months pp and I cried for a week straight.

Today's blog post really hit home for me. We're both totally excited (and terrified!) to try for a third. We're waiting till March to find out where we'll be moving for DH's residency, but man the baby fever is so real right now.

Any one else out of their mind? :silly:
