If I only had my son, who is almost six months, I could see having baby fever. He's an easy, happy baby for the most part. He makes me want to have many babies (but I won't.) In your position even though a part of me would want to another part of me would really want to enjoy the time with baby1 especially if you are loving it so much. You still have plenty of time for another baby so I'd want to just savor it a bit longer. Things do get busy with 2 but if you are really just wanting them close in age, it'll be fine. Mine are three years apart and while some parts are easier some are probably harder, there's pros and cons to any spacing. :)

I have an 8 month old (and a 3 yo) and I think we'll probably ttc soon for maybe baby 3! Before this phase of the fever passes! 😝😪

I have a 7 mo too and I am so mind-numbingly exhausted every day from work, baby care, still getting up at night, etc I can't even thinking about another. Maybe if that ever gets better. I am too tired to have sex so no babies are happening. LOL!

I can imagine how it would happen though. My baby has not been an "easy" baby at all and I have really struggled.

My LO is 8 months and the only thing from keeping us trying is that I haven't gotten a period yet. But we are planning on TTC after LO turns 1. But I personally have this image of my future life and it's utter chaos and I love it.

So I'm right there with you on the baby fever. My SIL is pregnant with twins and I'm a little jealous.

I don't think you're crazy! I have had baby fever the last 2 years except for probably a 3 month stretch where my sons colic was out of control, and no one was sleeping. My daughter was so easy as a baby, so it was a no brainier to add another. Then my son came and he's been a challenge, but still so amazing!!! And I still want more! Only you know what's right for your family, not a bunch of bitter yahoos from this site.

My daughter just turned 1 two weeks ago and I'm 33 weeks pregnant (not planned).

You aren't nuts, but fair warning... another pregnancy is tough on your body if you haven't totally recovered. Never mind how tired I am. Picking my daughter up and walking up stairs is really hard. Even just carrying her is hard. Bath time is downright painful sometimes.

I feel like I've been pregnant forever, and truthfully I just want to feel normal again.

6 months is when we went from 100% one and done to considering another. It's a great age. At 9mo I still want another badly. However, LO was a preemie due to preterm labor, so we can't try again soon. Getting pregnant in less than 18 months increases the risk of preterm labor, and we do NOT want that again. And I think I'd rather LO be old enough to at least a little bit understand why things are changing so drastically when another one arrives. Two under two doesn't appeal to me.

Well I found out I was pregnant with number 2 at 1. Since LO2 is almost a year I have the perspective to see that it was perfect timing for us. We would have been 1 and done had we not already been pregnant and my kids bond is amazing I love love the age gap. He was never young enough to feel jealous and it's just been great. It took us 18 months to get LO1 and LO2 was a surprise sometimes the timing is out of our hands :)

You're not crazy at all. We NTNP after our first and I got pregnant at 4 months PP. It's been wonderful - we've loved the gap! And in my experience, has been a LOT easier than my friends who have had bigger gaps. In fact, many of my friends have commented that they wish their kids were as close in age as mine. So if you really feel like you want to go for it - go for it! There is no right or wrong here.

I think you're a little crazy, but I'm right there with you. My daughter will be 7 months next week. She's amazingly fun right now, but also more challenging. It just gets easier has not been true for us. She was a dream newborn, and I've had baby fever pretty much from the start. We stopped doing any prevention a month ago, but I haven't gotten a period yet.

I think about such a small age gap, and I think I must be crazy. But isn't having small children going to be crazy no matter the age gap?

I think you are a little crazy. :P However, I totally get it, I had baby fever when my LO was around that age as well. It was like the clouds lifted and she (who had been so hard as a newborn) became super fun.

I think the fever went away when she was around 1.5, which was exactly when we actually wanted to start trying for #2. Of course.

You aren't crazy at all. I've had baby fever pretty much from day one when my DD was born! We have been NTNP ever since her birth. No contraceptives at all. I've been hoping I would just get pregnant again, but I haven't had a PP period yet, and LO is 10 months. So I'm right there with you! We would ideally like 4 LO's close in age.

In my experience 6-12mo is a very easy age and combine that with lingering hormones and realizing your baby is growing I think a lot of people have some baby fever around then. I did for sure. I am beyond happy I did not TTC since I couldn't imagine having a newborn with an 18mo old. I think the baby fever lessens once they get around 15mo+ and you get a taste of toddler tantrums and extreme whiny-ness. I still wanted another, but I did not have the crazy fever. It will probably pass

You have a cute baby who is nice. Toddlers have a way of squashing baby fever lol. The first year has its own unique challenges but I think it is harder the second year. I feel more worn out after mine turned one than before she was one.

So it is my opinion that it is just hormones mixed with the easy baby stage and realizing yours isn't tiny anymore.

I made a similar post when DD was 7 months. I still have the fever, but I know logistically it just isn't smart. Also, I want to enjoy my time with just my DD for a little longer. She's so fun right now and I will never get this time again!

I don't think it's crazy! Once you get out of that newborn fog and when they start getting interactive and easier, the baby fever starts! I've had baby fever for so long now but we're firmly in the NOT 2 under 2 camp so I must wait...

My kids are 16 months apart. I think it's gotten significantly harder since LO1 turned 2 :bummed: Some of that is work stuff and I'm sure a lot of it is individual personality, but managing a kid who's in the middle of emotional and independence struggles (LO1) while there is another mobile child who already has pretty strong opinions (LO2) but can't yet be reasoned with at all is definitely wearing me out.

I had always assumed that the early months with two small children would be the hardest, but for us they just weren't that hard. So I think it's possible you will feel differently as your LO gets older.

But we are getting through this, and I don't regret that our kids are close in age. So I really have no advice!

My third is ten weeks and I'm with you in the wanting another. I'd go for it if my body hadn't gone through the c-sections in three years. I need some recuperation.

My second two are only a year apart and it's been amazingly easy. My first is not quite two years older than my second and that was also pretty great.

Any way you time it, watching your kids become siblings is amazing.

My first response is: you are crazy.

HOWEVER, I do remember this magical point between 6 to 8 months when my son was just SO wonderful. He wasn't walking yet and had just started crawling and he was finally getting fun (after being pretty much a lump the first 6 months). I thought that I wanted all.the.babies. Then he turned into a toddler and squished any baby fever. I do think that if you want kids close together you need to leap sooner rather than later as, to me, the window / desire to have a second gets smaller around 15 to 17 months when you first start getting a taste of tantrums.

Am I crazy? I currently have an only child who will be 7 months old this week and both my DH and I are already itching for another one! Granted our LO is a very smiley/happy baby and has been since birth, so that makes things easier. Also, both my husband and I will be 30 within the next two months and we'd ideally like three kids so I feel like we need to get a move on it! Also, TMI, but I JUST got my first PP period back this week, so hopefully things are working properly. It took 6 months to get pregnant the first time. Are any of you with kids under 1 already fighting the baby fever? Especially if you only have 1 kid so far? Do you have two under two? Let's here your thoughts! 😊
