@travelgirl1: well it was spring when she was born so it was never exceptionally cold when she did the spit bubbles

@Mrsbells: Did it happen when it was especially cold? Yesterday was the first time it happened but there was quite a wind so that's all I can put it down to...

My baby would also do foamy spit bubbles around that age, especially after having been outside or if I gave her any medication

@hilsy85:Ha ha, isn't it amazing how much stuff tiny bodies can make?

@MamaMoose: That kind of does sound like what she had.. it was more like spit bubbles but just so many.... I'll definitely keep her out of the cold for a bit :)

Our LO recently also started having tons of spit bubbles. But they are always clear and very obviously saliva. I wouldn't describe it as "foamy". I would just keep her out of the cold and wind as much as possible until she's a little bigger.

@travelgirl1: I was shocked at the amount of bubbles LO could produce! So I wouldn't be too concerned about it, esp if she seemd fine and hadn't ingested anything funny...but can't hurt to bring it up to the doc!

@HLK208: We haven't washed it but we've used it a few times and she's been fine... good point though, I'll put it through the wash before we use it again.

@hilsy85: Well it kind of was spit bubbles but there were loads of them, like she's smeared bubblebath all over her mouth and chin. I've never seen a baby do that before! We wiped them away and they just came back. I was all for calling the doctor at first but since she's okay now we're home I'll just mention it at her check-up on Friday instead.

Are you sure it wasn't just spit bubbles? LO started getting really drooly and having lots of spit bubbles around that age.

This might sound like a dumb question but have you washed the ergo? Maybe a chemical from packaging? Was it serious foam or more like blowing raspberries? I know infants have a hard time with wind but I've never heard of foaming at the mouth because of cold/wind...

We just put A in her ergo and set off on a walk but about ten minutes in I noticed she was kind of foaming around her mouth, kind of like bubble bath.... we loosened the straps a bit to make sure she wasn't too tightly in and then set off straight home. Once I'd wiped it away she did it maybe twice more but now we're home she's stopped. We've taken her temp and there's no fever. It is -4 here and it was windy so I'm wondering could it be a reaction to the wind? We'd wrapped her up warmly and put a winter cover over the top. She's 10 weeks. Any ideas what could have caused it?
