And they'll be staying as they are until we re-do the basement (which we're in no hurry to do). Luckily DH is very handy, and does woodworking as a hobby. I'm going to have him make a barn door baby gate. Easy to open and close and I like that the whole thing opens, not just one center section. Plus the side that attaches to the banister didn't damage it at all, though we had to drill into the wall side (also, we ended up having to buy 3" screws for the wall side because the screws that came with it were too short for us). The bottom of both stairwells have no wall to attach to - just the bannister on each side.</p> <p>What baby gate do you have and do you like it? Is it easy for you to open and close to pass through? </p>
