@skibobrown: LO went back (temporarily) to having 2+ hour naps around the 8.5 month mark but now she's back to 1.5 hours (on the nose). I hope she's not sick, and that you got to enjoy yourself while she napped. Don't you hate it when you put off doing something because you think they're going to wake up soon??

I doubt it... but maybe. My guess is that this was a fluke. I think 9 months is really early to transition to one nap. Plus, she still has never ever napped more than 30 minutes at daycare unless she is sick...

@caffeinated: This didn't interfere w/ her bedtime b/c it was her first nap of the day. All it meant was that she completely missed her second nap b/c her long nap lasted almost all the way to second nap time. She ended up getting tired for bed a little earlier than normal b/c of the missed nap, so we got her down a little early tonight. All in all, the long nap was a success, so we'll see if this turns into a pattern or not.

@skibobrown: Mine will do this every once in a while. It seems like he just needs the sleep. On the plus side, he's typically super happy when he wakes, though sometimes he'll sleep like poo that night. I typically assume its a growth spurt.

Well, she woke up after almost 3 hours. Had a snack and a bottle and is happy as can be. I have no idea what prompted this nap, but I hope she repeats these long naps in the future! I think she's only going to get one nap today (she usually takes two, but it's too late for her to start her second nap now).

@skibobrown: congratulations!!! Have you been able to get anything done or have you been too worried about her? :-) I have a 30 minute napper, too. Today, she woke after 2 hours, ate, and fell back to sleep!! :-) Try to enjoy these awesome long naps when you get them. :-)

I find that whenever I say "wow, the baby has been sleeping for ::insert time here::" they promptly wake up within five minutes. So I normally try to ignore the amount of time they have been down.... Same goes for "wow both are napping at the same time..." always wakes one of them up :)

Those of you who have read my posts before probably know that my 9-month old has never taken naps of more than 30 minutes. Well right now, she is on a nap that has already lasted for 2.5 hours! I have gone in to check on her multiple times, and she is still breathing. Is this normal? How long should she nap before I wake her up?
