@winniebee: Ouchie! Depends on which one you have but there are lots of tabs and clips on the bjorn. I had to check the manual several times to really learn how to do it right.

Thanks for the comments! Maybe the Bjorn isn't adjusted right. His leg was all red after being in it for like 3 minutes (as if his circulation was cut off.) I haven't tried him facing in in a while, so I probably should.

I agree wtih @Mrs. Jacks: the bjorn can make their bits uncomfy when they are outward facing. We love our ergo and use it all the time. LO loves it too.

My LO loved the bjorn until he got too big and we had to move the strap. Now we have an Ergo and mostly love it (but it's not the be-all-end-all that the internets say it is!)
For outward facing baby you need the bjorn or similar carrier--or a sling or wrap.
The ergo etc that have the big comfy seat require baby's legs go around you so they cannot face out.

Find a store that sells ergo--they should honor ergobaby's 30 day money back guarantee.

I have the ergo and the beco gemini. First, i think your lo must be facing in with the ergo though i always wear my lo facing in so i havent double checked this. From a comfort and ease of use standpoint, i prefer the beco, and i think lo does too. I know for sure you can wear lo facing in or out with the beco.

I wear DS in the Moby when he wants to be outward facing, because he's just too big for the Bjorn, anymore. I think the Beco Gemini allows both inward and outward facing, though, and the structure is more similar to the Ergo. Maybe someone with more experience can confirm this...

Bjorn can be very uncomfortable because of where it puts pressure on their bodies. Try out an Ergo in the store and see how he likes it before you invest. They'll let you wear it for a while, I bet...
