I brought a hat that I knit for my LO, 0-3mo roll top pants that I knew would be OK if he was tiny or big, the matching 0-3mo shirt and a newborn size onesie in case he was tiny. Brought the boppy but ddin't use it.

I kept him in the shirt and blanket that the hospital gives you becuase there was so much undressing him to wake him up to feed.

Pants here: http://www.underthenile.com/underthenile/itemDetailBR374.htm

I have 3 outfits packed...since she's due March 18th, I have a green outfit packed in case she comes on St. Patty's day. Then I also have a newborn sized outfit and a 0-3 sized one. I also packed some newborn diapers, but we're going to a birth center and not a hospital, so they won't have them provided for me. Also wipes. I packed 3 receiving blankets, also.

That's it for us, but we won't have a long stay after baby is born, so it's pretty minimal compared to babies who plan to stay a day or two.

Here's what I took for the baby:
-newborn size going home outfit
-0-3 month in case he was big (didn't end up needing)
-pillows from home or boppy would work too!
-A+A swaddling blankets so he could have a cuter swaddle blanket on for pics
-nail scissors (I did trim his nails while in the hospital, they come out razor sharp!)
-mittens (which never put on him)
-newborn sized hat (next time I'll bring the smallest one I can find) again this is just so he looks cuter in photos.

I'd bring two coming home outfits in case one gets instantly messed up before you can leave... :) Also you might want a couple in newborn and a couple in 0-3M, since you don't know how big the baby will be. Maybe even one preemie outfit if you suspect it might be small.

Baby book would be good to write down stats before you forget, and also to get the footprints stamped.

Camera!

In the end, over packing isn't going to hurt, right?

Here's everything I plan on taking, in addition to my boppy pillow (now that everyone's mentioned it, I'm getting on the bandwagon!)
http://pluckyparent.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/baby-clothes.jpg

Two Aiden + Anais muslin blankets for swaddling practice, pants without feet, pants with bear feet, two one-piece suits (one thicker), long sleeve onesie, short sleeve onesie, two sets of mittens, two sets of socks, two sets of hats, and a heavier blanket and handmade sweater (both not pictured).

Everything is 0 to 3 months with the exception of the thicker one-piece suit which is newborn. Last time I went into labor, we had to stay at my parent's house. That and with Tennessee weather, you can never tell whether it's going to be hot or cold so I'd rather pack too much than not have what I need.

-My LO measured big so I brought a couple of outfits, a newborn and 0-3 size just in case..
-Baby book so we could start filling it out and get her foot prints.
-I'm glad we had the boppy, helped me get used to using it and the nurse showed me different ways to use it.

When I had my first all I took was picture/going home outfit. With my second I took the boppy (didn't have it when I had DD) and a picture/going home outfit.

We brought 2 outfits, his baby book and a pacifier. We did bring the Boppy but left it in the car and I don't think we ever brought it in....I used pillows in the hospital. The hospital provided everything else we needed (diapers, hats, etc).

Take multiple outfits because you don't know how big/small the baby will be. I took three and she actually wore all three while she was in the hospital so she didn't have to wear the standard white tee.
I was glad we took the Boppy, it was used a lot!
Baby book - you may want to write some things down!
Oh yeah and hats!
Don't take diapers or wipes - you will get those there.

and I would totally take the boppy if you have room! I sent Wagon Sr. back for mine with the first baby! It just makes feeding so much easier when baby is propped up closer to you.

I would say a few outfits in different sizes (I brought one newborn, one 0-3 month outfits), a few cute hats (like the beanie style), maybe some cute booties? the hospital should provide everything else but you can always call and check. (diapers, wipes, onesies, swaddling blankets, pacifiers, formula, bottles, nipples)

I've been reading around about what to pack for the baby. I'm wondering what your opinions are.

Clothes? Boppy? Let me hear it.
