Call the hotel if you want to confirm the mini fridge has a freezer portion. As for warming the milk, I just use hot tap water. I freeze flat, so it thaws really quickly but even if you don't, I'm sure it won't take too long. You could also let it sit in the fridge portion of the mini fridge overnight to thaw, so start thawing. I believe that's the preferred way to thaw it anyways!

@kml636: I would strongly consider that but obviously, my parents will be there, and the ILs live across the country. I don't think my 20 something single local BIL could handle her for a night, much less all weekend!

@prettylizy: Thanks-- we will bring all her favorites! I'm hoping they don't all thaw since I'm planning to bring more than we will need for the weekend, but if some thaw that we don't need, it's not the end of the world. I'd rather have too much than not enough.

I think the hotel freezer should be fine, but remember you want it to defrost anyhow so if it doesn't stay frozen no big deal.
Most hotels have a coffee pot, or even just hot tap water could be used to warm the milk in the bag. Just bring a bowl you can fill up and put the hot water in.

I'm sure LO will be fine waking up even if you're not there. Just make sure to have some of her favourite things there.

Have fun!!

I just have to say good luck! I was faced with the same situation and in the end I decided to leave my LO with my parents for the weekend and then I had to pump. It's not ideal but I decided it was better than having a stranger watch her (even though i'm sure it would be fine!!).

We are traveling 2 hours away and staying the weekend in a hotel for my sisters wedding next month, when C will be 8 months old. I will be busy with wedding and bridesmaid stuff for much of the time, so Dh will stay with her Friday (probably skipping the rehearsal and dinner altogether, he isn't in te wedding party). Saturday (wedding day) Dh will stay with we, bring her to the ceremony, I'll go to te hotel and feed her, then I have to go for pictures and he will pass her off to a baby sitter before the reception. She is currently still breastfed with maybe one meal of solids a day.

My questions: the hotel is providing a mini fridge, which I assume will have a teeny freezer. I'm bringing frozen pumped milk for her, and the freezer should be ok right? We will also bring a cooler that we can refill with ice. I want to bring more milk than she could go through but not let it melt and be wasted.

How to warm up the milk? She will take it room temp so I'm thinking just running water in the bathroom sink, or making hit water in the coffee machine?

An my big fear is that C will go down for her nap before the babysitter (who none of us have met, sisters friends mom) arrives and she will wake up to no mom or dad and a total stranger. Tell me she will be ok?

I SAH with her so I'm just very anxious about all the logistics and being away from her so much! I will pump regularly while getting ready and stuff so not worried about that.

I'm such a worrier over this!
