@Mrs. J: my first was 6 days late...looks like this one will beat her for sure! Oh well. I keep reminding myself it's easier to be pregnant than caring for a newborn. Also trying to soak up time as a family of 3. So far it's been great if I stop stressing about when I'll go into labor!

I carried both mine super low. It affected fundal height measurements because it made my bump much smaller! So I had growth ultrasounds with both. I actually was early with both my girls, 5 days early Dd1 and 8 days early dd2.

@skipra: Thanks. I'm mentally preparing to go late again (H was born at 40+3). I had my husband blow up the birth ball and it is helping to relieve some of my discomfort, plus H thinks it's fun to bounce on it with me, so we made a game out of it.

LO1 was so low for the last month it was difficult to measure his head during the numerous ultrasounds I had and my midwife tried to reassure me my belly was measuring so small because he was so far in my pelvis. And yet no dilation or effacement at my induction at 39 weeks. I swear he would have been at least a week late if he was allowed.
LO2 dropped considerably around 38 weeks and arrived at 40+1. Since this is your second too, maybe 2 more weeks? Which would be better for baby girl anyway. Hang in there. I know it must be super uncomfortable but you're in the home stretch!

I complained to my midwife today that baby is so low, it hurts. She said that he was "way down there" and ready to go. But who knows what that means. I am 37 weeks today and about to have a crazy busy week at work. I'll be very ready for baby after this week... Lo1 was 40w 3d so who knows.

I carried super low, and I was dilated 4cm by 37.5 weeks. I did deliver early, but only because I was induced at that point because of pre-e. :P Considering the dilation, I wonder what would've happened if I didn't have pre-eclampsia?? Anyway, good luck!

Ugh, I feel ya - my son was so low, I felt like he would drop out every time I went to the bathroom. That plus all my false labor symptoms made everyone including my OB think I would deliver at least 1-2 weeks early. NOPE. he stayed tight until 39w5d -.- my 9th month was absolutely miserable.

Hoping the end is near for you !

I carried lower with my second and was induced at 42 weeks after having been higher with my son and going into labor naturally at 40+4. I am carrying even lower right now with this baby, to the point that my pelvis feels like it's splitting open :bummed: , and I'm at 40+5.

I don't think how low they are plays a part because you need the contractions to get going to make things happen.

@avivoca: I can tell that your bump is allll out front from the photo you posted. It actually looks like it's a pretty neat little bump, too, it just sits OUT from you (and I can totally see how that would be uncomfortable!) it's so crazy how every pregnancy is different, even for the same mama! And how the peanut gallery needs to express their opinion on it 😜 I'm 100% with you on the discomfort of carrying low, though - I'm definitely waddling at this point!!!
