My friends little boy just ended up sleeping on his stomach. I know it's nerve wrecking because its totally against what they tell you, but you need to be able to put the baby down. Baby needs to sleep on her own. I would ask your doctor though about that, I have no idea how it works with a swaddled baby.

@scotchbonnet: my daughter wouldnt sleep on her back either, the fisher price rock and play helped a lot. For many nights we had to put her to sleep in the car seat. she just would not sleep in her crib on her back til she was over 6 weeks

Anna has to sleep on her side in her boppy pillow. She has only slept once just in her crib.
Also found that she wouldn't sleep flat on her back because she had silent reflux.
Boppy with Zantac has done wonders.

@scotchbonnet: happened to us too. he would be zonked out and snoring... place him on his back and he's awake in a second. but place him down on his side or his belly? happy as a clam.

he's 12 months old now and is an amazing sleeper. and still only sleeps on his belly.

good luck, I hope you find something that works for you!

oh dear. You are right, @bluebonnet, not what I wanted to hear :) but at least I know I am not the only one.
Wish I had a rock 'n play, @mamamoose. Cant' find one here in England that is affordable. Might have to beg mom to ship me one if nothing works.

Try the rock n' play. She may like sleeping at an angle.

What @bluebonnet said. I know many people who let their babies sleep on their stomach because that is what works for them.

This probably isn't what you want to hear, but we had that same problem. We tried everything - sleeping in the nap nanny, sleeping in the swing, sleeping in the bouncer, etc. Nothing worked.

After conversations with our doctor, and lots of prayers, we decided to let LO sleep on her stomach. It wasn't an easy decision, but it was absolutely the best decision for us. LO is 16 months old now and has been a champion sleeper since we let her sleep the way she wanted to sleep.

Good luck figuring out what will work best for your baby.

Hello everyone
So baby J decided to arrive 2 weeks early much to my surprise. She came in a big ol' hurry too, and in some ways, I am happy to have the waiting and anticipation over with.

We are slowly adjusting to her arrival, but it's day 10 and we have hit a major wall in the sleep department: Baby J won't sleep anywhere except in our arms. She will sleep well (at least 2 hours) if I or someone else is holding her. However she generally will not sleep anywhere else for more than 30 mins.

The other problem is she refuses to sleep on her back at all. She might sleep in her little bouncy thingy for 30 mins if you place her at an angle on her side, but that's about it. I am desperate, y'all. I am exhausted as I have to hold her most of the day and night.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get her to sleep in her moses basket or cot? We swaddle her for every sleep. It doesn't make a difference.
I want to get this wedge to see if it will help. Anyone ever use something like this?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Delta-Baby-Sleep-White/dp/B000SZ90ZS/ref=sr_1_8/277-5492408-9199345?ie=UTF8&qid=1377630541&sr=8-8&keywords=cot+wedge

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated
