I believe right now they are punches around the pelvic bone, and kicks at the top/left. Baby tends to prefer that his/her back is on my right side for some reason. I went through a phase where I could feel them from the outside, but not the inside at the top (could be from nerve damage from a previous surgery). My baby has basically been in the same position since 12 weeks, head down/posterior. Perfect birthing position and I hope she stays that way. So I can tell the difference between her kicking me--usually at my belly button or on the sides mid-belly.
