We sent sweet potato, cooked apple slices with skin, well-cooked broccoli, rotini pasta, and banana in the beginning. Our daycare is awesome and they went and read up on it themselves. I made a point of saying that she just needed to be watched for signs of choking, that gagging is ok/normal, and that I viewed food as a learning/sensory experience at first rather than as providing real nutrition (since barely anything was actually getting swallowed).

Out daycare was on board with it; they could tell LO wasn't feeling purees. Our daycare provides all the food, and they give the older/BLW infants the same lunch everyone gets, just cooked a little softer or cut up a little smaller.

Stuff E ate as an infant learning BLW: veggie soups (sans broth), chicken salad (shredded chicken), small cut sweet peppers, fruit, pasta, etc.

@autumnlove: Same. We did BLW at home but he got purees and SOFT solids at daycare (like bananas, etc).

They weren't ok with it so I sent purées until 10.5 months.

BLW mommas - how did you handle solids for daycare? We have to provide all food, and prep it, and I'm not really sure what to send. The teacher also isn't familiar with the BLW concepts, so if anyone has a link for a printable info sheet, I'd appreciate it!
