@msplatypus: I thought of another *forgive me, I'm sleep deprived so slow thoughts. For breakfast I did one mashed banana with 1/2 cup bobs red mill oat flour (look in organic section ). Form small pancakes and cook in a lightly greased frying pan. I eat those all the time with LO in the morning and they keep well in the fridge! They also taste awesome with cream cheese on top.

@T.H.O.U.: thank you! She loves pouches, but they are pricey, I was thinking about buying empty ones to put the last of our purees. Yogurt made her grumpy, I wonder if cheese is okay.

@regberadaisy: steak? How?

I made a batch of waffles with sweet potato and banana today to freeze. I'm totally going to try those meat balls @Tanjowen.

Both girls eat what we eat albeit we cook pretty healthy and most everything is homemade. Info have freezer back ups for days we eat bad like pizza night, fried chicken etc. I'm not giving my almost 10m old that.
From tonight's dinner she ate chicken bruschetta and sauté green beans. Last night she ate steak and cauliflower mash (or roasted cauliflower is good for self feeding).

Beans, roasted broccoli/cauliflower, sweet potato fries are good for BLW. Fish cooked however, any kind of pasta/noodles, I don't know m, for me the best part of BLW is eating what we eat and not making specific foods just for the baby.

@msplatypus: I was able to find organic canned rice and beans in a BPA free can and no added sodium. One can lasts about a week.

Ravioli/tortolini is another favorite.

Protein is harder. Usually he just gets our meat for the meal. We have also started him on cheese sticks.

Around this time he also started holding a pouch. He would let us feed him half and then we'd let him hold the other half.

We just fed her whatever we were eating that was appropriate, and kept a list of things that I could make/buy on the fridge for ideas when I was eating junk. Favorites were frozen waffles or pancakes just popped in the toaster, fruit, veggies, pasta and rotisserie chicken from the grocery store.

@msplatypus: Canned! I have no patience to cook the dry. :silly: I buy the organic black beans from Kroger that have almost no sodium. Try the organic green beans too! I also remembered I made a batch of turkey apple meatballs I would freeze and make a few at a time - http://www.sweettoothsweetlife.com/2014/10/08/mini-turkey-apple-meatballs-toddler-approved/.

Not freezer ideas, but at 8 months we did a lot of sliced bananas, cubed avocado, baked diced sweet potatoes, cut up peanut butter toast and black beans. And sometimes mash up the black beans into rice to change it up. Small things he could pick up but were easy to fix. My DH is gone a lot and I don't really cook, so even now I do easy meals for me and LO and try to keep it healthy and give him small bites of what I"m eating too to see if he'll take it.

I would make a batch of the sweet potatoes one night and keep them in the fridge all week (peel and dice up sweet potato into chunks, coat lightly with olive oil & any spice you like and roast at 400 degrees for about 15-20 minutes).

So lo has decided she hates spoons, but loves eating things she can pick up. She's almost 8 months old and has been on solids since 5. We do three meals a day and lately she's been struggling with her bottles and so I'm always worried that she's getting enough food. I was wondering if anyone had any blw meal plan ideas. It is getting expensive buying food and I feel like I need an organized approach to her meals. I get worried because our meals are not always the healthiest and it is expensive/impossible for me to cook every meal. I'm looking for freezer ideas.
