We still use ours because otherwise we would have no clue when he wakes up from naps and in the morning. He would lie there forever without making a peep if I let him. I also think it will be helpful when we transition him into his toddler bed.

Ours died awhile back, and we decided she was big enough to do without one. Our house isn't that big so I can usually hear her. She is 3.

We do, and she's almost 4.5 yo. It's because she's upstairs, we are downstairs and on opposites sides of the house. I'm not entirely sure when we will stop using it.

We have only ever had a sound monitor and we still use it even though C is 3.5 years old. We have a split level house so we are not near him and I like white noise at night so I wouldn't hear him unless he was truly throwing a tantrum and I certainly don't want him to get to that point and then not be able to go back to sleep once I do hear him. He's always been a poor sleeper.

Yes. I can hear him fine at night but esp for naps I like to know that he's actually sleeping instead of playing on the sly.

We use it only occasionally (usually at nap time) because of the way our current house is set up we can't hear him while sitting in the family room etc.

We have two cameras in the children's room, one for each child focused on their bed. I haven't really been using it a lot lately but that's because I've been spending more time in the office (which is right next to their room) when they're going down for bed. I keep them in there because I do enjoy having eyes and ears in there when I'm not in the office, like upstairs. Or if one is sleeping and the other one wants to go outside, then we take the monitor with us. Not sure when we'll stop using them but it'll probably be a few years yet! We're still not consistently getting P to go to bed and -stay- in bed!

Nope. We stopped a long time ago. Of course, we never used more than a sound monitor. I felt video was unnecessary.

We still use ours. There are 3 closed doors between us and her at night, so it would be a little hard to hear her. Plus, I'm all over the house and outside during naps. I think it will be helpful to have when we transition to a twin bed too.

Yes but it's mainly because we still keep her door shut plus we have a million fans going in our room. So I feel like I wouldn't be able to hear her if I didn't.

I used one with DS until he was 4 - but his room is at the opposite end of the house and I wasn't sure I could hear him if he needed me.

DD is almost 3.5 and I still use one for her as well.

If your LO is over 2, do you still have a monitor in his/her room? LOs room is across from ours so I'm not sure if it's necessary now that he's older.
