@ladyfingers: I definitely have those days too! In fact, I felt her bopping around at around 5 this morning when I got up to get my husband ready for work, but nothing else really until 3:30-4pm, and they were just tiny movements. It freaked me out, but then right after dinner she went nuts. I think she was trying to escape out of my right side. I think just like babies on the outside, they have crazy days and lazy days!

I just remembered, I've noticed something different the last few days. Sometimes there is this rhythmic movement and when I look at my belly it looks like she's like, sucking or something? She was sucking her thumb during one of our scans so I wonder if she is going crazy thumb sucking in there and I can actually see it, like maybe her fist is up against my belly. Is that crazy? Anyone else see anything like that?

It feels less like kicks and jabs and more like he's giving me noogies from the inside, or just pressing really hard. .i do think movement has slowed down a bit in frequency.

@ladyfingers: That sounds pretty normal to me. If he's moving around right now I'm sure everything is fine. I've had a few days where I didn't notice anything for the whole morning but then I feel a lot of movement later. I'm pretty sure I've read that they get tired after a long period of movement so I think going a few hours without feeling anything is normal.

My baby movements never slowed down. They just got bigger and more intense through the very end. Seeing/feeling her movements now when I hold her I can now tell she was doing the exact same things when she was in my belly :)

OK, LO seemed like he was pretty sleepy today, so I'm bumping this. My doctor never told me to do kick counts, just told me I should feel at least 10 movements a day, and I always do -- in fact way more than that -- but days like this always make me nervous. And I mentioned something to DH about how the baby seems sleepy today, and now he's all worried and up my butt about it.

If he's still "sleepy" tomorrow I'll call the doctor and see what they say. But did anybody notice this, at least maybe once a week or so, in the 30-something-weeks span? It seems like it's always like this on Mondays -- he gets me all nervous and then by Tuesday he's bouncing around all day again. It's basically smaller nudges than usual and fewer of them. But earlier he kicked me so hard it hurt, and just now he moved his whole body where it lurched my stomach and made me nauseous lol.

Bah, babies. ;)

Towards the end of my pregnancy I felt a lot of squirming but much fewer kicks and jabs.

I never noticed a real decrease in the amount of movement after 32 weeks. DD was still very active... and she was getting bigger and stronger, so her movements just started to hurt more. It was actually pretty painful by the end. I swear DD was trying to kick her way out my left side.

Around 33 weeks I stopped feeling a lot of kicking and it is more like he is moving from one side of my belly to the other... all the time. At night he moves around so much it sometimes hurts!

@MaisyMay: @JerricaBenton: Yeah mine right now are more wiggly and bumpy than they used to be, so I was curious because he's already not quite as flippy as he used to be. He does move a lot thought during his periods of activity! I read somewhere they're sleeping 90-95% of the day and I'm like uh, not my kid.

I'm a little behind you, but from what I've noticed, her movements are bigger, like instead of being relegated to one area, it'll start on one side of my belly and end up all the way on the other side. I still get some punches and jabs but a lot more of those big, sweeping across the belly movements. Or sometimes it feels like she's actually trying to push through my skin! I haven't noticed a decrease in frequency yet - if anything it's more often.

I'm at 37 weeks and I've had more movement than ever, but it tends to be different. I get lots of wiggles and bumps, almost like she's shrugging her shoulders and just trying to get settled. She does move a lot though. Most nights I can count my 10 kicks in less than 20 minutes.

Today, one of my pregnancy email updates said baby's movements peak in the 32nd week and will start differing in "quantity and quality." I know from talking to others that now that he's running out of room he'll start moving less, but what does the "quality" part mean? Does it mean fewer but bigger movements? Or fewer but smaller?

Curious how your baby's movements changed after 32 weeks!
