@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Yeah I know. It only took me what, 30-something years to learn not to send my WTF reply and just change the subject instead.

@runnerd: I know, I'm just picturing me breaking into a sweat and then starting another bleed. When can he just accept that I am managing my care in a way appropriate for my situation?!

LOL... I think I would have not been able to stop laughing at that point. There are many reasons to remain fit and active during pregnancy but fetal sweat is not one of them. What a moron!

I'd probably have burst into tears at that bc that's my biggest regret that I don't get to be a running mama to be bc of my issues.

Oh man, that's awful - I'm sorry you can't even share those things with him! That would be annoying, although I find it difficult to get too worked up about it when someone's advice is that lacking in common sense.

My mom and DH think anytime I feel bad it's because I drink too much Mountain Dew (never mind how much coffee my mom drinks, she conveniently ignores that.) When complaining about how tired I was early last summer they both asked if I thought Mountain Dew could be the cause. Um, no, I think breastfeeding a newborn who woke up every 2 or 3 hours was the cause! I could probably break a bone or get a concussion from some awful head injury and have them try to find a way to blame it on my eating habits (and actually, when I once told them I felt that way my mom DID find a way to link my hypothetical non-existent injury back to my eating habits...really?)

Tell him fetuses are incapable of sweating which is the exact reason pregnant women aren't supposed to get overheated!!!

Lol babies don't sweat do they?! Haha

Although exercise does cause an increase in oxygen and brain growth, but I doubt your dad knows that for reals :p

I've avoided telling my dad about my pregnancy woes since he has such unhelpful wannabe medical advice. For some reason the answer to everything involves nutrition and more exercise, which I find bizarre because he also harped on me about how I wouldn't be infertile if I weighed more. I haven't told him about my ongoing nausea or bleeding, and only briefly told him about the growth issues that came up at this week's anatomy scan.

His answer? That I need to start exercising and really work up a sweat because "baby needs to sweat too" and it would help the baby grow. My mind boggles.
