My husband is reading The Expectant Father by Armin Brott and says it's pretty good. It was recommended by his friend.

I've heard and read a lot about Happiest Baby on the Block, so I'm definitely going to check that out. Anyone have any suggestions on books for daddy?

@chopsuey119: I got the original skinny bitch book (audio version) and I listened for about 45 minutes before I'd had enough. It was super preachy and made me feel awful. Not at all what I was expecting.

As for book that I've loved, Happiest Baby on the Block has probably been the most useful so far.

As a general baby care book I always refer back to Dr. Sears The Baby Book.

I second all of Marbles' and H&S' recommendations. I would add "Baby 411" -- it is exhaustive on baby care but is actually still a fun read.

My cousin got me "Skinny Bitch Bun in the Oven." It made me feel crappy and really self conscious about everything I was eating. :P That was the only thing I read/skimmed.

Oh, I LOVED Happiest Baby on the Block. Memorize it before baby comes!!!! It will save a lot of strife. My other favorite "Bible" has been "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child." It can be dry and science-y in the beginning, so I just skipped to the chapters that were relevant to me in terms of my baby's age. It was invaluable and I believe my daughter's constant sleep success if due to the techniques I followed in this book. We've never had sleep troubles (knock on wood). Love that book!

My favorite was Heading Home with your Newborn, which was essentially a recap of our childcare class at the hospital. Although I'd taken care of babies before, this was a nice primer and refresher. My MIL also gifted us Penelope Leach's Your Baby and Child, which is more old school but chock full of great information.

What are some of your favorite pregnancy/parenting books? I have the Mayo Clinic guide and am planning on reading Happiest Baby on the Block and Great With Child, but would love to hear what you all read!
