We have large bookcases that are impossible to screw into the wall (other than using a strap that's visible). DH bought industrial strength Velcro to secure them to the wall, if you can believe that, and those bookcases aren't going anywhere now!

I have no idea what they are called but it's something that could go over the round part of your shelves, think a half circle plastic thing. Then, it has screws on either side you screw into the wall. That's a bad discription I'm sorry lol.

We have large free standing shelves in our house similar to these. http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=100006678&storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&ci_sku=100006678&ci_kw={keyword}&kwd={keyword}&cm_mmc=shopping-_-googleads-_-pla-_-100006678&ci_gpa=pla#.UOyXW3dyGSo
We need to secure them to the wall somehow in an effort to babyproof, but I'm afraid screwing through them may make them crack. I can't find anything useful online. Does any one have any tips?
