Last night went much better. Although i went into the room to nurse 4-5 times she cried for 2 mins and went to sleep once i put her down. So hoping for a great night again!

@foodiebee: Yeah, tonight will be her second night. I’m going to try the pacifier. I’m also just going to wait to respond a few minutes going in especially after i just burp and put her back down.

@cake2017: Have you tried giving LO the paci when you lay her back down? My first definitely needed that to soothe until we did full blown CIO.

@cake2017: Maybe she needs a few nights to get the hang of things? We did the same as pp's for MOTN feedings. Our LO loves his paci and really needs it to help self soothe. I can't imagine not letting him have it. But, it did depend on what brand. Ours really likes the Mam brand orthodontic ones.

I'm still disappointed my second doesn't take a pacifier! So no regrets here :) Use the tools if they work!

As far as nursing in the MOTN goes, I would go into LO's room, left it completely dark, didn't make eye contact, didn't talk, didn't change them. Basically I plucked them from the crib, sat in the chair, stuck a boob in their mouth, let them eat, and put them back in the crib and closed the door. Sometimes they nursed back to sleep, sometimes they were still awake when I laid them down. Usually they would settle before I got the door closed, but sometimes it would take a few minutes. I always gave them 5 minutes before I'd go back in and that worked 90% of the time.

@graceandjoy: Yes this is what i’ve been doing but still no sleep. Also, we can’t move when baby is the room so transitioning her to her room is best for us but she seems to just constantly wake up(at least last night).

@Becky: @JCCovi: @LadyDi: Okay, good to hear your opinions. She has it once in awhile but if at night it may help her i’ll try.

For any of you who nursed and had baby in their own room- did you nurse them to sleep during motn feedings?

I’m very pro paci for infants also. They were great for my first two and weaning they off was pretty easy.

I used magic merlin for my 1st, but not for my 2nd. My 2nd pretty much solely relied on my boob at night, and since we bed shared, I was able to sleep since whenever she fussed I just shoved her a boob. My 1st had more startle reflex so the suit worked more for her. She also night weaned herself by 6 months and we went to pacifier for her. No regrets either way; I'm not huge on rigid sleep training, more just whatever it takes for everyone to get sleep! I was able to wean DD1 off pacifier just before 2, and DD2 weaned off boob just after 2.5.

Definitely never regretted the pacifier. We took theirs away at 1 year to prevent the really terrible paci problems we’ve seen with 2 or 3 year olds. I think a paci is now a recommended sleep tool because it helps prevent SIDS.

I’m only speaking to the pacifier, but I don’t think you’ll regret it at all if it’s helping her to sleep. Mine both had pacifiers and dropping them was easier than anticipated.

Three month old will not stay asleep once I put her down in crib at night ONLY.

I got one hour last night and I am up right now in her nursery cause she won’t settle.

She periodically has a pacifier for when she is fussy and family is watching her. I don’t want her crying etc when I am away so it’s helped calm her.

Well i put one in her mouth tonight and she’s in her crib. so far staying asleep.

My first did not have a pacifier so ....

Will I regret this? I don’t want this to be a sleep crutch but I am desperate.
Trying to figure out how I can keep her in her crib at night after MOTN feedings. She just won’t settle?????

Merlin Magic Sleepsuit? Did it work for you? If you breastfed how did it workout while baby was sleeping in it?
