My family does "dirty santa" where everyone buys a gift and then we pick numbers and the corresponding gifts. If I am pregnant this cycle I will only be about 6 weeks which is way earlier than I would like to announce it - but it just seems so perfect not to. We would only tell our parents and sisters with the thinking that if anything did go wrong we would want them to know.</p> <p>For DHs' family, we want to wrap up grandma/grandpa books and an aunt onesie when we exchange gifts. We were with my parents for the holiday and wanted to do it in person. Since we had 4 people we wanted to tell at once we didn't want one person to open a gift while all the others say there confused. So we wrapped up little items of baby gear (baby lotion, baby oatmeal, bottle, and diapers). Each person got a gift and we told them they had to open at the same time because it was a "group gift". It was fun because each one didn't understand their gift it wasn't until they each realized that all the items whee baby things before they got it. Unfortunately, we didn't have the money to go home again (we had been home on Thanksgiving). We hasn't had an ultrasound yet, so I printed out, framed, and wrapped a poem from baby and included it as a Yankee Swap gift. We wrapped up copies of our ultrasound pictures and a little grandparent gift and surprised our parents that way. It really was so much fun and a great way to tell everyone. I hadn't even tested yet, but knew we were too, ugh, I was so like "dang".</p> <p>We lost that pregnancy, after getting a BFP on New Yrs, so it's a good thing we didn't get crazy with that.
