hmm.. OK. yeah, i guess we're just going to have to wait for him to get the hang of it.

i could see him pushing his face into the bumper since he likes to do that with blankets or if there is a pillow on the couch - and I don't want him to get stuck in a weird position with his face pushed into it - scary!

We used regular bumpers, but only after 6 months of age when my son became a rolling fool and I was satisfied that he could move sufficiently.

I couldn't get the breathable bumpers to fit around our crib correctly anyway.

I bought a breathable bumper thinking we would use it in the future to help stop limbs from sticking out and paci's dropping out of the crib. But then @MrsJacks posted that most of the injuries they see from bumpers are actually strangulation issues and not suffocation and the breathable bumpers are just as like to strangle so we will be a no bumper household. Maybe there will be some bumps and bruises but they'll heal. And soon enough baby will learn to stay in a comfortable place.

We have a normal bumper. I took off the bumper when DS started rolling around and that lasted about two nights because he kept getting stuck or hitting his head on the wood. I put the bumper back on and he's been fine.

We had to get the breathable bumpers. LO is 10 wks and scoots all over but it doesn't wake him (thank god!). I don't know how he roots around so much. We swaddle him in a swaddleme

Hey all.

OK - we have finally transitioned to the crib (from the Rock n Play).... LO keeps rolling around in there - ending up sideways, or right up against the side, or up at the top... He hasn't got the best control over his movement yet, so he gets stuck & gets mad.

He gets especially mad on his belly up against the side, I think he has knocked his head... now I see why people get bumpers.

Seems like the breathable bumpers won't protect against bumps - so what do you guys do?

Just wait until he has better control? I keep repositioning him if I find him asleep in a weird position before he wakes up, but I can't keep doing that.

Let me know your tips & suggestions!
THANKS.
