I put her in her A&A sleep sack and she did it again pretty immediately...I guess this is her thing now!

Yep. My DS likes to sleep on his side too! I actually stopped swaddling him the other day because he hates it. :)

P did this as soon as we brought him home. He never rolled fully over until weeks later so I owulndt worry. Probably just more comfty to sleep on her side. It made me nervous to and whenever I tried to put him on his back he would just flop to his side 2 seconds later

Mine LO is the same age and he does the exact same un-swaddled. I do the rolled blanket trick too. The nurse in the hospital told us to. He has been doing it since birth.

My first lo was rolling to her belly around 2 or 3 weeks and 2nd lo rolled to her side since the first time we laid her down unswaddled (3 days old). Neither of my babies liked to be swaddled though so I never worried about it.

My lo was a side sleeper too but the swaddle actually helped keep her on her back.

LO has done this too unless she is swaddled really tight with her legs straight.

DD did that too, I just stopped swaddling her and she was rolling properly by 2.5 - 3 months. Now at 4 months she sleeping on her tummy (she rolls onto it). She settles fine not swaddled, and being in the middle of Australian summer it is a lot more comfortable for her too.

DS does this at almost 3 weeks as well. We just leave him alone. If he gets to his belly (he hasn't yet), he's able to lift his head and turn it from side to side already, so we aren't too worried.

@princessbaby you won't. Put it tight next to her from the shoulders down. The nurses in the hospital had us doing it because he was rolling from day 1. :-)

Agree with @Bao - if she's comfortable sleeping this way, I'd go without the swaddle. I never had to swaddle-wean J because he was comfortable without from early on.

Prettybaby did this at first too when she was H's age if we didn't swaddle her. She didn't start properly rolling until she was 4ish months. If she fell asleep without the swaddle I would let her roll but she never managed to with a swaddle.

@PrincessBaby: I hear swaddle weaning can be difficult, I say if she is ok sleeping this way, and you would feel more comfortable, then try a night without the swaddle :)

My girl did this from an early age too - 3 weeks! But when she is swaddled she can't get her arm out to roll over so I haven't worried about it. Though I often wish she would sleep without he swaddle, if only because that position is so cute!

I just busted H sleeping 100% turned on her side...She wasn't swaddled bc I hadn't wanted to wake her before putting her down.

Does this mean I should stop swaddling when she sleeps, that she'll be rolling all the way over soon?

Very cute trick, but kind of scary!
