Bumping an old thread  It was a pleasant surprise to see that I made the last post.

Now on Dec 22nd (over 1 year later) LO is wearing size 8. Last year's Kamik's never got much wear because they're too hard to get on and too narrow! She wore Tretorn Robust Heritage in 23EU for most of the year, but they're too small now. The Reima snow boots she's wearing now are also too hard to get on and not wide enough (24EU and fits just right).

During this past summer, she wore a size 7 in Vans (runs big) and grandma got her new Croc boots in size 8 and they now fit perfect (too small for that style) - definitely not going to fit this summer. However, Osh Kosh 8 (24EU) still has room for growth.

She's grown 2 sizes in a year - it's actually closer to 2.5 sizes

Note to self: stick with lined winter rainboots for daycare!

She was wearing size 6 Stride Rite this past summer. She grew out of them by mid-September. I bought her Crocs rainboots in size 6 during the summer to use for fall and hopefully next spring, but she can no longer get her fat little feet through the fitting top part

I bought her size 7 Kamik snowboots for winter and those look like they'll definitely last until the end of the season. I buy in a size she can grow into, and although it's big at first, she has no problems walking in them.

But it's really hard to know how fast her feet grow because I don't buy the same brand and they seem to vary widely. For instance, she wears a size 5 TCP fake Ugg boots, but they're about the same size as the Kamik's and Jack & Lily boots in size 24-30m .

Pedipeds are good too. They come with an insert so you can take it out for extended wear. Try 6pm website for deals. We had stride rite and crocs during the same time. The shoes lasted from about 24 mos to 32 months but I don't really remember exactly when I we first got them..maybe earlier. I get whole sizes but had that dilemma with my latest move up.

I recently bought LO two pairs of Smaller by See Kai Run and paid almost full pop (size 6-9 months . . . the two pairs of 3s I bought her are too big!) . . . I guess it could always be worse!

I only get whole sizes but he has more than one pair per size, generally sandals and sneakers. In some sizes we've had to get a third pair (flip flops or rain boots, depending on the weather), so I don't buy them much in advance. To give you an idea, I think he was 4 at a year, 5 at 15 months, 6 at 18 months, 7 just before age 2 and now in an 8.

@MamaMoose: I know how you feel! I paid full price for the first pair of Stride Rites because we desperately needed shoes before traveling since DD was walking and the only thing we had at home was suede bottomed Robeez.

I've been buying L leather soled pedipeds. They come in 6 mo sizing. His 0-6 mos were a gift, I got. His 6-12s on sale for about $15 at piper lime w my BR Rewards, and just bought him a 12-18 mo pair in advance. Now that he's cruising we send him to school in shoes. The teachers say it makes a big difference in how easily he gets around.

Very very slowly. I would say we move up every 6 months? My lesson learned is not to buy cheap shoes. I now by decent brands that will last through the wear and tear. I also buy about 1/2 size up to get maximum wear out of them and don't buy them too far in advance, just in case they don't work with the season.

How often does your LO move up shoe sizes? How often do you buy shoes?

Do you buy shoes for every half size, or just whole sizes?

Would I be a bad mom if I bought only whole sizes? Baby shoes are expensive! I have been told to buy Stride Rites & other high quality shoes.
