I second the Nowalis. I would never pay that much for a pair of baby shoes, but we got several pairs as hand me downs and they were great.

Skidders are a similar idea and I think much less expensive.

Otherwise, we used Robeez, or similar rip-off versions like they have at target.

I found putting shoes on made it less likely for socks to fall off and disappear!

We haven't had any cold this winter so we stick to socks. Personally, I wouldn't spend tons of money on shoes for a baby because they'll grow out of them so quickly.

People here seem to use these fitted socks with a leather sole. I didn't know what they were called at first but even DH was sporting them in his baby pics. They seemed to be called "Swedish Moccasins" in English and a few companies make them (I've yet to find out who makes them locally or if it's so common that you can find them anywhere here in Sweden.)

Here's (at least) 2 companies that sell them online:

http://www.moccis.co.uk/index.php/
http://www.nowali.com/

They don't seem to slip off at all and made for cold weather. I'm definitely getting them, especially since we have wooden floors and tile.

Anyone buy shoes for their LO's yet? It's cold here in Chicago so I'm trying to decide what kind of shoes to get the little guy. He spends most of his outside time in his stroller with a bundleme, but I wanted to get a pair for him for the times we go somewhere. Are Uggs for a pre-walker worth it or shall I just buy some plain old sneakers?
