@T.H.O.U.: @Crystal: yes I was thinking of picking up some of those sparkling juices from trader joe's and serving them in champagne flutes with fruit in them!

@locavore_mama: ooh chicken satay sounds good.. or anything with dipping sauces!

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I was thinking about that... maybe a parfait station and just a big bowl of fruit so people can add fruit if they wish. and yes, the kiddie duty is my personal idea *pats myself on back*. I know some kiddies will seep upstairs looking for their mamas, but as long as the girls have at least 30 mins to eat for themselves I know everyone (especially the guest of honor) will appreciate it!!

Wow- that sounds amazing! I agree about the non alcoholic drinks. Maybe a few things that feel fancy, like mocktails?

Your menu is delish...will the yogurts parfaits also include fruit? You may not need both the parfait and fruit cups.

I    the guys will have kiddie duty downstairs!

These sound amazing. I don't think you really need anything else if it's only for 8 people.

I'm throwing a little baby shower (sprinkle?) for a friend this Saturday. We're having a girls-only brunch at my house, very low key, but my friend is a big foodie and a wonderful cook so I want to make some stuff that will wow her. Since it's just a group of 8 girls, I can put a little more work into a lot of cute little dishes instead of cooking for a crowd, which is what I'm used to.

Here are a few ideas I pulled off of pinterest:

Caprese bites
Bagel chips with cream cheese, lox, and fresh chives
Gazpacho shooters
Deviled eggs 3 ways
Yogurt parfaits
Fruit cups
Sticky buns
Mini quiche
chicken salad on croissants

Her SIL is bringing Laduree macarons and I'm also going to bake some cupcakes, I think.

Any other ideas?

P.S. The men and babies are having a pizza party playdate in the basement playroom... haha!
