No mention of gifts/ cash/ gift cards would have been best. But, the e-vites are already sent... Don't worry about it.

Hmmm I'm not sure if it can be changed once sent, but if it can maybe something like "Your presence is gift enough but if you just can't resist, a gift card would be appreciated"?
ETA: even just "Your presence is gift enough" would work!

Ack, editing my post because I see it was sent out without your knowledge. I'd ask your friend if they can edit it to say "no gifts please". I know evite is editable after sending, not sure about paperless post though.

My girlfriend just sent out my sprinkle e-vites and I have a slight problem with the wording. I made it clear I didn't want any presents, but if people insist, I'd prefer gift cards, especially because we are moving and team green and I don't want to have to worry about returning/exchanging things. Well at the bottom of the invite it says "The ___ family would appreciate gift cards". AH! I feel like it sounds rude and we are asking for $$.

There are only 15 people invited, family and our super close baby/parent friends. I know that they "know" us enough to know that we aren't greedy money seeking people and it probably just makes it more convenient for them, so is it that big of a deal?

Can a paperless post evite wording be changed after its sent out? What could it say instead? Should I just ask that she add "in lieu of gifts" or do you have another suggestion?
