Wow! Great responses ladies! :) Where do I begin? lol...

@SCG00387 - I think sweatpants on little boys are cute and also agreed that jeans seem pretty difficult to wrangle on boys or girls. eek

@stargal - Diaper changing convenience has definitely been a point my mommy friends have warned me about.

@looch - Exactly what I've been thinking!

@meridithnyc - Excellent practicality points! And thanks for pointing out the belly factor. I didn't realize that's why some moms don't like the leggings/onesie look. I guess I'll have to wait and see if it bugs me! :)

@birdieputt - Oh the danger I can see myself getting into with those Baby Gap sales! :) Glad to hear your perspective since you're already putting them to use!

@zippylef - Oh jeggings! I just bought a pair of Levis jeggings! I can't wait to pair those with tunics! heehee!

@crisark & @turtledoves & @zippylef - LOL! I can see your point about boys in leggings! Didn't even know they made them for little boys! Yes, I guess I mean pants in general! :)

@artbee - Gifts will be used and gratefully so right?! :)

@thehistoryofus - Makes total sense!

@autumnlove - ouch! that doesn't sound comfy at all!

@mrssuperhero - LOL! Totally not offended or anything. Just didn't realize that they might look funny? But now I understand about the baby belly thing! And I LOVE talking fashion and style, adults OR babies! :)

@crumbs - Scrunched up footsies! oh no! :) I fear I will have A LOT of overalls in our baby's future as my MIL is kind of OBSESSED with them. LOL. Unless they have snaps at the bottom, does that mean you have to take the whole thing off for every diaper change? I LOVE rompers, but also the same diaper concern. So far she already got one romper as a gift. SUPER cute, but no snaps. :/

@babyboymom - Really? Weird looks? I was counting on just LO wearing the onesie w/out bottoms too if it were warm out. So many things I am just learning about how people think LOs should dress. :)

@runsyellowlites - Hmmm... so many moms talking about these babylegs! I better check them out!

@runningelley - so cute!

@tysonja - I love it! I'd definitely get some of those styles too!

hehe the gap sells a lot of those tshirt-onesies for those who aren't into the 'tucked in' look but love the function of a onesie! they call them 'body doubles' :)

Sawyer wears onesies with baby legs at home, I like to dress him up more when we go out though. The babylegs and onesie is just easy, and keeps him nicely covered.

I will definitely be dressing baby boy in onesies and baby legs! I'm actually planning on him wearing a lot of that for his first few months. They're adorable!

DD has quite a few pair of leggings that she NEVER wears. My SIL keeps getting her some but I don't like them.

She usually wears onesies w/ babylegs, shirts with pants/shorts/skirt, or dresses w/ coordinating dipe. I will probably start putting some of her leggings under her dresses as it starts to get cooler.

I think the whole point of a onesie is that the shirt doesn't ride up. LO wore lots of onesies with pants when he was little. He actually wore lots of onesies with nothing else when it was hot, but I always got stares like he wasn't fully dressed when I did that. Then again there are only so many options for baby boys.

I never liked the onesie + pants combo, so I never bought pants. LO also never wore onesies for the first 2 months! As a first time Mom, I was too scared to fiddle with putting anything over her bobble head.

Now that she's almost 3 months old, she wears onesies and I've given in and bought some pants too! She has large feet and possibly long legs, so a lot of her sleepers scrunch up her little feet. DH thinks she looks cute in them, like she's a big girl, although I'm still not a fan, they're good for around the house.

My favorite combo for the colder weather: onesies + overalls or rompers. They're as practical as leggings, without the belly bulge and tucked-in look. Just throw on a sweater, a hair bow, cute socks/slippers and it's a real outfit :)

BTW, I find the pink Gap leggings (that come 2 in a pack) run really small! The 3-6 m is a lot smaller than Carter's 3 months. They hardly fit her and she normally wears 0-3 m.

I like the leggings and onsie look. I bought my baby boy some baby legs leggings. I think they're going to be really cute on him and can't wait to see how he looks in them! He also has some sweatpants that he'll wear too.

I'm surprised at the anti-boy leggings thing - maybe I just have a more liberal definition of leggings/sweatpants? I view them as interchangeable though I guess I can see leggings being tighter cut.

@crisark @turtledoves I'm just curious since you both mentioned not for boys - do you think jeans are the only way to go? Or do you not think of pants like this: http://zutano.com/shop/category/baby-boy-bottoms/ as leggings.

I realize my gender 'norms' are more flexible than other peoples - but I'm just curious now if we'll be getting the style side eye when me and my boy go out of the house! (Not that we might not for something else, who knows!)

@Thehistoryofus: the extra layer keeps them from having exposed skin on their back when it's cold. I also do a lot of long sleeved onesies under t-shirts with pants. Seriously, my blog post could have been three times as long, I'm ridiculous

For our girl, onesies and leggings were AMAZING for daycare because it kept her warm and covered. We didnt start with dresses until she was past the crawling age and are just now getting into stiff clothing like jeans.

C lives in onesies and leggings most of the time. I stock up on basic onesies and solid colored leggings in the next sizes up. I love jeggings over jeans, but she does have a couple pairs of jeans (Gymboree matching outfits) that she wears.

i did the same thing as you - stocked up on onesies and leggings at Baby Gap last weekend. i prefer pairing a onesie with leggings (as opposed to a separate top w/ leggings) because the onesie keeps the baby's belly and back warm and unexposed to the air. my babies just lay about on their backs or tummies all day, so i don't see the point in dressing them in stiff clothing right now. i happen to think my girls look cute with their little bellies bulging over their leggings. i even put their socks over the leggings to rock the 80s look. :)

I dress my LO in onesies with leggings all the time. I think it's just practical! Though I took Mrs. Superhero's suggestions to be more tongue-in-cheek or, at the very least, just her personal opinion, you know?

Personally, I think chubby baby bellies look adorable with the "tucked in" look. Plus, I hate, hate, hate when LO's little t-shirts ride up. It's annoying when trying to burp her, especially.

My son wore pants, always with a onesie. It wasn't a big pain to change him and if we had to go somewhere, I could just pop on a jacket and we were out the door.

I love it - her blog post was just * her * style :) This is our first coming in November, but after wrangling nieces and babysitting kids into jeans.. I can say that actual jeans will not be making many appearances on our little guy until he is potty trained!

I love leggings on kids, and he'll be rocking onesies and sweatpants for sure.
