Mine flipped back and forth several times in the last months. Wen I was ping in every two weeks she was in a different spot each time. Your LO definitely has time to turn. But yes, they do teach you about control or the lack there of.

I flipped about two days before I was born! My mother delivered twins--vaginally, with no painkiller--and the second one was breech... although admittedly that was 34 years ago...

My LO went breech at 34 weeks, she was manually turned at 38 weeks and I delivered naturally at a shade past 41 weeks.

You've got heaps of time for baby to get itself turned round so don't stress and if you have any questions about the External Cephalic Version I'm happy to tell you about my experience!

I flipped from head down to breech around 37 weeks according to my mom. There's still time for your LO to switch back for sure :)

Right there with you. Both of my dudes are breach right now, but unfortunately, the doctors think it's possible, but not probable, that Baby A will flip since they're pretty much out of room. I've definitely heard of plenty of single babies (and even a few multiples) flipping later than we are, so hopefully it will work out for both of us!

Mine was and had flipped by 37 weeks. I was so sure he hadn't because I thought I would feel it but I obviously didn't. I didn't do anything to try and flip him- one of my doctors was of the belief that there was a reason he was positioned the way he was and to let him just do his thing. I thought that made sense. I also wasn't that determined to have a natural birth- if he hadn't flipped I had no intention of going through with the version & would have scheduled the c-section.

@HerGreenApples: I didn't do anything to try to turn my LO. :) And you are right about letting go . . . it is a valuable lesson moving forward into parenting.

Thanks for all your encouraging stories - they are making me feel better already!

My midwife encouraged me to look into chiropractic and acupuncture/moxibustion. She said not to get too caught up in all the other at-home techniques to flip babies, because she doesn't want me putting all the "blame" for the baby being breech, and possibly staying breech, on myself. It's so hard not to turn to google and want to try everything at once. Like I said above, it's an important, but difficult, lesson in letting go!

My LO flip flopped quite a bit . . . she was breech at 33 weeks, and head down at 36 weeks. :)

My nephew was breech around that point. My sister did all the moves-- downward dog type poses, an ice pack on the top and heating pad on the bottom, to encourage him to move his head towards the warmth, etc, and it worked, he did flip back around. Unfortunately she did need to have an emergency C-section for other reasons, but he was in position!

Moxibustion is really highly regarded here. I think when done correctly it has a success rate of 70%, without the risks associated with EV.

There is nothing to say baby wont flip right back around. Its actually good news that they haven't been breech the whole time, it would tend to suggest there is not an inability for them to turn back round.

Try not to stress (impossible, I know) and maybe get your ducks in a row so that if you need to see someone you know where to go.

Good Luck!

I wouldn't get too worried about it. Baby still has plenty of time to turn again.
My doctor's won't even check until 36 weeks for this reason.

My baby flipped right before my 39th week appointment! There is still time for your LO to get into the head down position.

About a week ago, I woke up in the middle of the night and felt some insane movement in my belly. There was a lot of tugging and pulling and while it didn't really hurt it was definitely uncomfortable. Up until that point, no one had been able to determine what position my baby was in, so I figured all that movement must have been baby flipping into a head down position.......I found out at my 32 week appointment yesterday that it was actually baby turning breech!

My midwife isn't overly concerned at this point and said that baby might still turn. She gave me a bunch of suggestions for alternative practitioners with whom her patients have had good outcomes. I've already made an appointment with a chiropractor who is skilled in the Webster Technique and I'm also looking into acupuncture/moxibustion.

If baby still hasn't flipped by 35/36 weeks I would be sent for an u/s to confirm the position and then my midwife would make a referral to an OB in our city who has about a 60% success rate with external version.

If baby still doesn't flip, we would discuss options, including vaginal breech birth or c-section, depending on the exact position in which the baby is presenting.

I feel like, at every turn, this baby is already teaching me about letting go of control and going with the flow!

Just wondering about other bees who have experienced breech babies at 32 weeks: Did your baby flip? Did you do anything to encourage flipping? Any words of wisdom?
