SILs baby went from heads down to breech at 36 weeks, then went back to heads down about a week later and she was able to deliver vaginally.

@photojane: Yeah when he was breech back in the second trimester and started kicking my cervix, that was pretty unmistakable too -- and he's a lot stronger now! I haven't noticed any of that, so there's that.

@ladyfingers: I totally get the paranoia! The midwife assured me that if this point the baby flips, you'll definitely know. And, to ease your worries... at this point, I can definitely tell she's breech - there's no question. The head in the ribs is no joke! You would know!

@photojane: I've been feeling hiccups down low ever since he turned head down at 29 weeks, so I just kind of figured there was a correlation. I would feel them up high at the same time, since his whole body was heaving, but yesterday I ONLY felt them up high, so idk. Anyway, good to know :) I'm just getting paranoid.

Well, I don't think that hiccups is necessarily an indication of where baby's head is! Baby girl is breech, and I have always felt hiccups low. I think I'm just feeling her little body & feet vibrate against my pelvic bone with each hiccup.

@ladyfingers: right around that time I also thought I felt hiccups up high. But baby stayed head down the whole time... So I wouldn't worry.

Well, I felt hiccups down near my butt again this morning so idk what's going on in there. I'll just wait until my next doctor's appointment and see where they find the heartbeat ;)

My son turned somewhere between 35 and 36 weeks into a breech position. I never had any one moment that was him turning, but I think he did it gradually because I would get a lot of pain and pressure like he was pushing into one side of my stomach almost like he was trying to push himself out. I had these pains a lot over the last week and I think it was him just shifting around. I'm not completely sure though. My water broke at 36 weeks right when I woke up that morning and I think he might have made one last move/shift and it broke.

Mine flipped at 35 weeks. There was no mistaking it. My husband even knew it because we saw it happen. I didn't realize he was breech, but I sure knew he had drastically changed his position.

No experience with flipping, but I could very easily feel his butt next to my ribs for much off the 3rd tri. When he kicked up, it would knock the air outta me.

My littlest sister flipped a few weeks before she was due and my mom said that there was no mistaking it. You could see her belly change shape as the baby flipped.

I'm only 15 weeks along but my MIL loves to tell the story of my BIL's arrival. She was sitting on the couch watching TV on her due date and all of a sudden saw/felt my BIL flip in her belly into a breech position. He then kicked his foot out. I didn't believe the story at first (because I didn't think a baby could flip into a breech position so quickly that late) but other family members verified it.

@BelugaBean: Yeah I mean, I kind of figured that something the size of a honeydew in my belly, flipping completely around (his head was in the lower right and based on where the hiccups are it would need to be in the upper right if he'd flipped), would have... idk, woken me up or something. ;)

My baby was head down from like 20 weeks on so I'm not speaking from experience and hopefully someone else can give you a better answer.

But my doctor once asked me if I thought the baby was still head down and I said I didn't know, but I thought so. She told me that later in pregnancy, if the baby flips, you can definitely feel it. She said her baby flipped once and it hurt.

LO has been head-down since at least 29 weeks. I'm 35 weeks tomorrow, and this morning it seems like I'm feeling hiccups up by my boob instead of down low like usual. As of last night, he still felt head down (I could feel the knot moving around low by my pelvis).

I know it's possible, and I have an appointment on Wednesday so I can find out for sure (the doctor can always feel where his head is and has me feel too, it's really obvious). But I'm curious, for those of you where the baby turned breech late, did you feel him flip? I feel like, at 5 pounds, it'd be pretty unmistakable. And did they turn back head down at that point, or was it just a lost cause once they got so big?

Just curious even though I'm not 100% sure what's going on right now.
